5 minutes gone in 2nd half still lethargic and with zero attacking ideas, and Brighton carrying more threat.

Another pathetic performance so far. We lack cohesion all over the pitch. Danso at left back is puzzling. Our defence panics whenever the ball is near them, midfield too slow and ponderous. Adams/ings/Redmond all quiet up front. Not sure what the answer is, but something has to change.

That should be a wake up call. We lack leadership so bad.

Early days but this defence means we are in for another season of struggle. 2 out of 3 signings stuck on the bench and were left with the same dross that made us struggle for two years

Another season and we are still starting premier league games with arguably the weakest centre backs in the league. The fact we have to play three at the back to try and cover their glaring deficiencies says it all. Vestergaard is 6ft 6 in but is terrible in the air. He hardly ever wins headers and his pathetic attempt at a header today led to the first goal. He is slow, cumbersome and lacks focus at key moments. He should be a beast at his height, but too often he is beaten by much smaller men who actually bother to jump. Stephens is and has always been cack. Our win record with him starting is abysmal. He lacks positional sense, is another one that can't head, tries to be too clever at times and gets caught out. It's a bit alarming that our managers keep on turning a blind eye to the goals he is conceding. They both panic under pressure and this leads to tension in the rest of the team. Centre back should have been the first position we strengthened this season, not the one we 'Strengthened' with 10 minutes left in the window.

I said this week we still have the same bunch of bottlers as before. We’re still a ****ing fragile mess with no leadership or backbone. Defence is way off standard.

Pathetic defence again. Starting with vestegaard and Stephens is asking for trouble. Not good enough at this level.

There was the usual Stephens **** up.

We threw away more points from winning positions then any other team in the Premier League last season. We are fragile mentally and have been for a while. We lack the toughness to get the job done on many occasions, thats why we need a personnel change. Bottlers - Stephens, Cedric, Vestegaard, Romeu, Hoedt, Yoshida etc... Too many players that wilt under pressure and make mistakes. Hope this cleared it up for you.

Unless we add some steel to the team, I feel we could be in for another disappointing season. We have too many bottlers in our team and we need desperately a leader who can organize our defence . If Stephens starts next week, then it shows yet again how our glaring deficiencies have failed to be addressed again

He is quite highly regarded here in Edmonton for his time as coach of the Oilers. However given the way he has been at Saints, I hope if he does come back to the NHL it’s not with Edmonton.
