Really? Learn something new every day.

Maybe not. Maybe will ship out Gardos (who clearly hasn't impressed Koeman) and have Toby, Ogbonna, Jose and Yoshida as our four CB

saints set pieces last season - surprisingly bad
doddisalegend replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
I don't think it was surprisingly bad we were **** poor at set pieces last season even JWP the "dead ball specialist" failed to convert a single free kick into a goal. When we had Lambert it was a bit better he could score a free kick, take a proper peno (unlike Tadic) and could be a threat at the back post at corners. -

The only caveat I'd add is that he strung us along a bit IMO. I don't think the club would have mentioned being confident of getting him to sign a new contract in public unless Clyne was giving then very encouraging signs. Having said that I don't have any ill will to him(don't really wish him any future success either mind) -

You mentioned the manager there - has he been a big part in your move? He's shown before young players will play a part here... Definitely. He works with young players and helps them progress. I still think there is a lot to come from me and hopefully he can bring the best out of me. Who are all these young players Brenda helps progress? Sterling is the only one that comes to mind and Rodgers has done such a good job Sterling wants to leave Liverpool really badly.... -

I imagine before they give those joining interviews they are well briefed by their new clubs on saying the things the fans want to here Great history - check Amazing fans -check best stadium atmosphere in the world - check big club - check club can win silverware - check and repeat.......... -
Giving Brenda more options is probably just courting disaster he couldn't work out his best team last season. Meanwhile the other big teams (possibly not spurs who seem to want to flog half there squad) will just add a couple of quality players to their already strong squads and hit the ground running while Liverpool are still trying to find their feet.

After last summer I find myself not overly bothered let's get Morgan on his way and concentrate on building next seasons team. Still think he was good enough to play for a better team than Liverpool. I guess he will stay at pool for the best part of his career, earn a good wedge, play for England and stagnate like Glen Johnson. Meh #wemarchon and all that. -
Out of interest how many goals did he score in the u21 euros?

Got to add in the January window premium:) TBF I don't disagree in some ways I think the club would be happy to sell Morgan now for 25-30 million and invest in 2-3 new players at about 10 million each (which they can sell for more in 2-3 seasons time). -

I like to think we'd say "Tough come back in January and add another 5 million while you are at it". It would be to late to use the money for anything useful or to get a replacement by then. Though TBH 30 million would probably be to hard to turn down. -

I'm pretty sure that is bollix........................ but part of me hopes it's true just to watch the rather awkward fallout:lol: -
Didn't he say he really enjoyed playing the PL and that the style played here suited his game. TBH he doesn't seem to have enjoyed it a Madrid so I think he take any decent Pl side who wanted him.

But in Remy's case he didn't need to be that fit to sit Chelsea's bench all season -

Bit early for me to get to excited just yet. The other issue is that if we don't cash in on him now will get a lot less next season.. -
This He saw how it's worked out for Clyne not signing a contract and he saw what happened to Morgan last season with his contract. Judging by his comments over the last few months he thinks he should be at Arsenal as long as Victor is confident that he can get a better gig I doubt he will sign a new contract. Doesn't mean we shouldn't offer him one this summer but I'd be surprised if he would sign it.
