yes but Wayne Rooney who is allegedly playing on the left keeps taking up the same positions as rickie and getting in his way. Some decent deliveries from set pieces might help rickie as well.

To be honest Rooney and Barkley seem to have a mental aversion to passing to him a few times he has found space and they've totally ignored him. Mind you Rooney hardly wants Lambert to have a good game even went as far as nicking Rickies goal and then celebrating like he has scored a worldy....

It's a win win for saints then. Pool either cough up or Adam stays. If Adam can't be sold he either knuckles down and plays for saints or if he won't and becomes disruptive he spends the peak of his football career playing for the saints development squad. Either way the club hold all the cards....as long as they are prepared to play hardball.

All the more reason for Adam to act properly if Liverpool do decide to look elsewhere and no one else will match our valuation he is going to be in a very awkard postion trainning with the devolopment squad won't exactly help his career. Since Mopo has left there have been reports that he had certain "special" players who he had a lot of time for leaving some players in the squad left feeling pushed out. Always got the feeling the team was pretty together during Adkins time but Mopos way of doing things might have fractured the team spirit a bit.

Interesting to watch Adam go from hero to zero so quickly that it would make even a pompey fan blush... Having said that I'm having trouble finding much sympathy for him it seems to me he made up his mind to ditch us a while ago and playing the loyalty card with Adam Blackmore really got my goat. The fact that the club feel he'd jump ship for any side in the top 10 makes it look like he is after the cash than football trophies.

Just for those not in the know what does a transfer request actually mean? I thought it meant that a player waived the right to his cut of the transfer money meaning that the club would get more money. However I'm sure someone said on this thread that doesn't apply any more. So what does a transfer request actually do? other than tell the club you want to leave. Does the club even have to accept it?

The guy will always be a legend in my house. My kids started watching saints in league 1 and both grew up singing Lambert's name and cheering his many (many) goals. While I'm gutted he is going Rickie just comes across as such a nice guy I can't be anything but happy for him. He has worked his way through the leagues and given saints everything he deserves this perfect end to his career. Cheers Rickie now for my favourite SRL moment....

Even If NC had stayed we would still be in the same postion we have good players who want to move to bigger clubs. We failed to get into Europe this season, the only carrot that might have kept people here, so NC or no bigger clubs would still be circling like sharks and NC wouldn't have been in any better postion to stop things than the current board. Telling players we have a plan for CL football is a pretty moot point when some club already in the CL comes a calling....

This ^^ Lambert isn't getting any younger and we have clearly been looking to move him on for a while. If Osvaldo had worked out rickie would already be a sub at saints.

I thinks it's more to do with that one season in the championship Where we kept pointing out their hoofball style while claiming how great our football was...........
