  1. I'm still struggling to get my head around why Liverpool with the two best strikers in the PL would want RL? I mean he is great for us but for Liverpool he seems a step down
  2. fair enough apologies I'm off to cry.....

  4. Yes he is starting for England tomorrow........
  5. Stop you're stomping all over Charlie's wet dream of saints collapsing like a house of cards............
  6. I'm sure it would be Rickie's dream....I just can't believe Liverpool would want him(and I say that as a huge Lambert fan)

  9. erm so if that is NCs pet journo one can assume that most of that info came from NC? Adam blackmore hinted that MP had escaped NCs attempt to fire him at christmas and another article I read on the BBC said NC was given a target of top 6 by NC this season which he failed to achieve. A lot of people seem to think pooch would still be here if NC was running the show but the more little bits that have come out in the press last few days I'm wondering if NC would have fired him this summer...
  10. I think Adams age means that he needs the big move to a top four club now or he never will move. This season could have been his peak so he needs to cash in now while he is hot property. Luke is still young, still lives at home and is probably going to get much better. I'm guessing his age means he might not feel the need to move straight away.
  11. Probabaly not if this BBC article is anything to go by At Southampton there was no lack of clarity for Pochettino. He was "head of the football department", as Cortese once said. While that was widely taken as an insult, what it meant in reality was that Pochettino was left to focus on preparing the first team and little else. He had a say, but not a decisive one, on transfers. Scouting and negotiations of player contracts had nothing to do with him. He did not deal with agents, the medical team, the youth academy or when and how the team travelled. All of that was taken out of his hands to allow him to concentrate his efforts on the first team. 12. Surely a nice chorus of "Champions league you're having a laugh" will suffice, unless of course Spurs are sitting comfortably in a top 4 position, in which case I might just give him slightly nasty looks. It's not him leaving that ****es me off just the feeling that we where dicked about for months by MP when he knew he wasn't going to stay.
  13. I think some on here only want statements from the board so they rip it apart and find something else to wet themselves over............
  14. yeah as others have said bit of difference between Europa and CL. If we improve again Europa league is not out the question but I'll laugh in the face of anyone who thinks we are going to break into the CL on a regular basis anytime soon.
  15. Get out who actually said that?
  16. I like this post:thumbup:
  17. I've been out this evening bumped into a couple of fellow saints fans who mentioned the interview and talked in glowing terms about what Ralph had said, it all sounded very promising. It was interesting to come on here and get almost the exact opposite reaction:?
  18. From the bbc Spurs have made no secret of their interest in recent months and were finally given permission to speak to the Argentine last week, after Pochettino himself agreed to pay Southampton the £2m release fee that was stipulated in his contract. The details took no time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27599165 I'd say if he was prepared to cough up £2 million to leave he really didn't want to be here.
  19. That's a fair point except he has done pretty well in European competitions with what amounts to a minnow club at European level.
  20. Jesus christ never thought I'd see the day but I'm actually agreeing with Nicky boy here............ this all day long
  21. This bit is interesting to looks like he really didn't have a plan B. Lets face it worked pretty well but I wonder if it became a problem in matches where things weren't going well? When he first arrived at St Mary's, players were surprised that so little time was spent focusing on the opposition. The manager would only mention them for two or three minutes after the pre-match meal. No plans were made for specific players. Instead, Pochettino focused on his team, on his approach. It bred a confidence, a swagger. Whether Southampton were playing Manchester United away or Cardiff City at home, the preparations would stay the same in the week before. Formations were not discussed among the players, only shape. Pochettino talked about areas and fluidity but never the need to stay in a rigid 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2. It was innovative stuff and it worked.
  22. I'm left wondering if it included Lambert as well to be honest there was a time earlier this season when he really didn't seem that happy.
  23. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27599165 Quite a few interesting comments in there about how saints work and not everything in the squad being as rosy as I thought they would be At Southampton, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Jay Rodriguez and others were extremely close to their manager. It would be inaccurate to say he was universally liked - no manager ever is. There was a feeling at Southampton that his fringe players did not always feel part of the project. Other members of the staff would step in to reassure and reason. But there was still a sense to some players in the squad, that unless you were one of Pochettino's stars, you meant little to him. That may need to alter. The public perception of the Argentine is that he is mild-mannered, softly spoken and cannot speak English. All three are wide of the mark. This is a confrontational manager when he has to be. At Southampton, he had run-ins with his chairman, with his players and with club staff. the second comment might be why the board where happy to let him go?
  24. No that can't be right poch went of his own free will? I thought Kruger drove him down to WHL personally, hand him over to Levy, forced poch to sign the spurs contract while asking Levy if he wanted any of players on the cheap..........
