I wouldn't say Nigel's football wasn't good, different, but general good to watch. Nigel's problem was his teams were a bit to open at the back due to being pretty attacking. Having said that I don't reckon he would have done that bad this season with the extra players we bought in last summer Lovern and big Vic would have given us more stability at the back for sure.

Yeah but that has nothing to do with MP has been offered jobs when at Espanyol but he stayed there He had, understandably as a long standing player, far more loyalty to Espanyol than if had to us which would make him far more likely to turn down job offers. The board at saints couldn't really use the loyalty card on Mopo like Espanyol could.

Slightly different scenario as he had two good spells there as a player (including trophies) and they gave him his 1st shot at coaching as such he had, I suspect, a lot more loyalty to Espanyol than he ever had (or would have to us). MP at Espanyol would have been like us having Benali as manager loyalty that runs deeper than career.

No. In fairness Sherwood's genius was getting Adebayor out of training with the kids, putting an arm around his ego and putting him back in the 1st team.

Except Poch refused to discuss his contract with the board until the season ended. After all he knew he was off so there was no point giving saints a bigger compensation claim by signing a new juicy contract.

Surely its MP who has constantly refused to talk contracts with board not the other way around maybe MP was telling the board he was comfortable and going nowhere while planning to leave the whole time. I suppose the board could have done an NC and just got a new manager in and then mugged MP off, like NC did with Adkins, but then they would have been slated for that to. It's not the board or Saints that have come off looking like ****s in all of this but Mopo IMO.

Maybe his ambition was always more than saints? So that being the case him leaving is pretty much inevitable............ so why are some people desperate to blame the board if he leaves?
