AP is certainly getting amongst his squad and experimenting. Impressed I have to say... I am very impressed with Pards so far. He has not panicked but observed and brought on his squad. He has secured some great players like Lambert and Hammond and will shortly have his first team decided upon. All within only a couple of months. Fair play to him, he must be confident of achieving this years target - to stay up.
-
Best bit of this story is nothing to do with HR but the fact that the pressure is also on Peter Storrie - arguably the biggest asset with a footballing-business brain that Pompey have. Lose Storrie and Pompey lose their final piece of consistency...and he's under investigation and pressure... oh happy days.
-
I stand by my prediction after watching the highlights. Wolves were by far the better team in the second half and have to be one favourite for relegation. They we unlucky rather than Pompey being good. Pompey will relegate with the lowest ever Premiership point score.
-
Give Papa time to be shaped into a team player by Pards and then judge him in 6 months. AP has already managed to work out where Lallana should play - the first big Southampton mystery to resolve - now let him mould Papa. 3 goals so far? He's contributing already anyway. Reminds me a bit of Rory Delap... 'sometimes he's good, sometimes he's crap' !
-
With regards to Papa... I seem to recall a younger Ronaldo at ManUre starting in a similar vain before being given more experience and discipline by his manager. Give AP a chance to shape him.
-
I think with input from a good manager and some experience with the new squad he'll find his place, just as Lallana seems to have started to and certainly Wotton has. Clear evidence with respect to Wotton is if you have a decent manager you get the best out of your players. Wotte load of rubbish. AP's Red and White Army!

Next target - get out of the bloody relegation zone

It'll come... earlier than Xmas. -
We need gradual rebuilding over time once AP has wiped out the team of losers Lowe left behind. Gradual success year on year will prevent the yo-yoing of the WBAs et al and keep us in the Premiership for 27 years or so again in time.
-
Sort of what I am saying. Will him on to success, support him and we may just have a manager who'll do the business. Personally, I have no doubts in his ability - he is simply the best manager in Leaguer 1 IMHO, and possibly the CCC and bottom half of the Premiership.
-
I think AP will walk himself. But then, if he just misses promotion next season I would still call for him to stay. Mid-table and below in 2 years time is unlikely to be progress. But, if he continually moves us up the table he stays.
-
It is a good point - it shows we'll be mid-table at least if we continue as we are, which is frankly half a table higher than if we'd kept that prat Wotte and Mr Lowe..
-
and those that do? Are successful. Will on AP to success. Unless he fails continually like Wotte then I can see the obvious benefits of consistent management... like any sensible football fan.
-
I thought W00Ting was banned by Keith Legge years ago as it was childish. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
-
Me calling for managers? Methinks you are well off there. I called for the removal of the incompetent Lowe Totally useless Dutchies but never have I called for the removal of any other manager. Consistency is critical. Consistency with competence. Wotte/JP/Lowe = clear incompetence. We need a manager for 6 years at least. It is a fundamental principle in football. Those who keep managers over time tend to be more successful.

4-1.... another prediction comes true! Happy days! Alan Pardew's Red and White Army!
-
Pompey won. But Wolves shouldve had a penalty and James made a good save. Oh well. Still going down with lowest ever point score in the premiership methinks
-
But I think Lallana has been recovering from a minor injury.
-
Sometimes and only after the Xmas dawning. The rest of the wise old players paid to sit in the stands was who I was referring to.
-
Because Gillett is actually quite good? Mind you Holmes has potential. Also, Lallana was recovering from injury was he not?
-
It was to Lowe and Wotte.
-
AP is experimenting, he's won the game so looking at what he can get from what he has
-
AP will work it out. He's been experimenting with what he has. Once the results come and we're firm with his first choice team, we'll be fine.
-
I think the great Lallana mystery of where to play him may have been solved.
-
Told you. 4-1! Legend me.
