  1. I want Pards out. ... in about 6 years time if he's failed to return us to the Premiership!
  2. Its hardly new - Coppell has been rumoured to be coming here for sometime in this capacity. I think there's a small amount of truth in this one. Refreshingly our new no-politics boardroom are able to maintain a degree of security in their decision-making unlike the last bunch of amateurs.
  3. I like the good ol' tradtional manager set up. But, I guess - if Pards is content - having Steve Coppell on board continues to show ambition and will attract players. Quality DOF who understands the League has to be worth having. It's when you put a Rugby coach or a Dutch fraud in and a mystery advisor called Kim vdW that things start to get a little suspect on the DOF front. I am happy with Copps! Smell the sweet air of ambition and repair... mmmmm nice
  4. yep.... and the smell of recovery cometh.
  5. lol. Lets bring in a hockey playing toff with expertise in retirement homes too while we're at it.
  6. I agree wholeheartedly. Time to get behind the team, manager and owner - the reason? These guys actually deserve it.
  7. and... whilst I sympathise a little with your frustration don't you think we too have: New manager, new players, lost good players, getting over the incompetence, lack of ability and ambition by an ex loser of a chairman and are still in the process of bringing a brand new team together? We didnt win, we didnt lose. Under Wotte and Lowe's legacy players in the same scenario we would have lost. Improving gradually in my books.
  8. I'm bored of fans criticising managers - we've had some brilliant ones and lost the lot. Pardew has my faith. You dont undo the 14 odd year disaster of Rupert Lowe overnight. Fact.
  9. Fantastic! The greatest roar at SMS! Wonderful memory that.
  10. Agreed. That is the most significant change.
  11. Just checked the stats... 2 relegations and our worst position for 41 years. Come on - Lowe was the biggest loser in Saints history - which is what the question of the thread is dedicated to. We are now just about rid of his influence... last players of his regime are leaving. Now roll on success.
  12. Lowe was more successful than unsuccessful? Are you daft? Come on SOG... the league table never lies mate.
  13. The Lowe factor. Fact. Once it finally fades we will be successful.
  14. Hope we keep Sagga to be honest. We need quality and by all accounts was passionate on Saturday.
  15. Ryan Smith was pump for us. Dunno why people are rating him. As for Nile Ranger - nice to see him get a second chance but give me experienced professionals in this league over kids anytime.
  16. Looked good for the Toon last night I thought. But, give me an experienced striker anyday to a developing kid in this league.
  17. Watching the new Pompey owner in his shirt and hat as they lost on Saturday I couldnt help but smile and think... Newcastle Utd. Wonderful. That club is so going down. One decent player left - David James - and he's off to Spuds by the looks of it! Enjoy. At least we can have something to cheer about this season. We'll be playing them again in 2011.
  18. They will. Seldom do my forecasts fail to deliver.
  19. He was the greatest ever striking midfielder though.... a category all of its own!
  20. Send all our kids on loan.
  21. WGS was appalling when he took over - for about 3 months as I recall.
  22. 6 years. We need consistency. If there is one BIG lesson from Lowe's fiasco of leadership over the past 14 years it is that in football you need consistent management.

    Gillet

Interesting. Well that certainly explains why he hasnt been selected. Showed some signs of being one of the few Lowe players that should stay, but obviously isnt consistent enough. Another legacy player bites the dust?
  24. I was expecting exactly where we are heading for relegation to League 2... until AP was given his own team and booted out Lowe's legacy players. So not really surprised. Now, 2 more players and AP may just start producing some results. We'll survive mid-table finish this year if we get rid of the last of the losing team from last season.
