But, most of our Lowe legacy's are actually League 2 standard. Said it all of last season too... simply not good enough.

I agree. Although Lallana should stay and be a bench player.
  4. I dont. Said all along their manager isnt good enough, their players are not good enough, their fans are deserting in droves and they are unlikely to have any closure on ownership for a while. That uncertainty will lower morale and further erode their chances. Unless they get serious money and a new manager I think we can enjoy watching the results like yesterday's continue to roll in. HR was their talisman - a good manager for them and will be for Spurs too. HR is gone. So soon will Pompey from the Premiership. I predict us playing them in the CCC in 2 years time.
  5. I know why Wotte hasn't got a job yet... it's because he is utterly useless.
  6. Agreed 100%. He needs time. Nice to see you starting to acknowledge, albeit indirectly, the damage Lowe did and seeing some optimism in you is refreshing. Enjoy the ride 19, it's going to be better than the Lowe years once we ship out the last of Lowe's broken players.
  7. ...and no time for a bunch of new players to gel. Still need to get rid of the young players from last season and replace them with men. But, AP is assembling a team. We wont see instant results. Patience will be key over the next couple of months.
  8. Good summary. We will play again soon.
  9. We are turning it round slowly and to be honest none of us should be surprised given the damage done to the team last year by Lowe, JP and Wotte. Most of us predicted relegation this season unless there was serious managerial and player investment. We have started to see both now, have a decent owner and an ambitious boardroom. It's a matter of time, dont expect a play-off place, but I think we'll be OK this season.... just... and put in a strong performance next.
  10. Just heard - hope he recovers soon. Had potential. Might have to have his leg amputated too!
  11. I hope we ship them both out soon.
  12. Exactly - and what's more she's not wearing it, just disgarding it over her shoulder with the contempt it deserves!
  13. Keep. But they want off and after the way they were treated last season who can blame them.
  14. Concur.
  15. Is Cork not still a Chelski player? Sorry but what's this got to do with Saints, he left us wisely last winter to avoid having his confidence destroyed by a crap manager and certain relegation to go to rivals Watford. Honestly can't see what he or we owe each other.
  16. Good points. I am unsure on spiderman. Lallana I have said we should keep as well as Gillett. But I think all should be regarded as bench players only once AP has completed building HIS team.
  17. lol! Hope so... but I feel we need a defence first.

  19. Yes it does. All the old traits come out in a year of disaster all over again don't they? Thank goodness he's gone forever. Once the final clear out of his poor players is complete this club gets back to successful times.
  20. A neat and succinct summary.
  21. Makes sense to me. Regardless Pulis Jnr needs to be shipped out along with the likes of Lancashire, James et al. The only youngsters I'd keep now from the Lowe years are Lallana (although I am puzzled how to play him) and Gillett (a tenacious playmaker who works his socks off and has potential IMHO). The rest? Farewell.
  22. Agreed - which is partly what I am getting at. Lowe's legacy team members are still - and will always be - scared from their previous experience in the mould of the losers that led them. Clear out is a no-brainer to be honest.
  23. I agree with that Verbal. But, it is often better to move on a player who has lost that desire and ability to win than to keep him. Some of our youngsters deserve a fresh start elsewhere, but they are unlikely to lose the stigma of being relegation team members. We need a big clear out. Give me a player with desire and a point to prove over even some of our more skillful younger players from last season and I'd take the new man.
  24. I thought that too!
  25. We have made 6 signings and we need 6 more in order to have a winning team. Our current crop of players from Lowe's legacy ARE rubbish - both on the pitch (most are League 2 standard) and mentally - that we need replacements. 6 players bought in = 4 available and 2 injured throughout a season. A team is 11 + 5 on the bench. We need enough good players to therefore fill those slots and cover 4 injuries to decent players as a very minimum requirement. Our crop of youngsters failed to deliver bar a couple. All our best players less KD (Surman, Rasiak, Sagga, John for example) have gone or are likely to. We need an AP selected squad of 20 odd players, not 7 or so AP players and 13 odd from Mr Lowe's time.
