  1. Agreed - well said Arizona.
  2. The loss of the regime was indeed worth the sacrifice... shame the regime couldnt have stood down 1-2 years ago and sold the club. I am looking forward tomorrow to removing my location statement after 12 months or so. Tomorrow the sleeping giant has a chance to reemerge... lets complete the removal of the last of the failures quickly and then lets move up.
  3. There is a degree of truth in this statement. Barclays pulled the rug from under Lowe because of the power of the fans (whether they boycotted for Lowe or not). Also Lowe left the first time because of the fans starting to turn on the pressure from banners to air ads. The major problem came with the leadership of the fan base who unfortaunately had been very careful to criticise Lowe and others. Had we had people who cared for the Club more than their privileged positions with the boardmembers who knows? Perhaps we might still be in the CCC or even the Premiership? I thought Chorley was as mad as a fish but he had the courage to speak out unlike some, some who should have. Still whats done is done. It will be time to form a strong fans group after this takeover goes through who are prepared to take on the owners if needed. The reason? The plc was a terrible blood sucking system to run a club but it allowed Lowe and others to be openly quizzed at meetings. Our new owners may have more luxuries. CONSTRCUTIVE fans and leadership will be necessary to ensure we all go forward together IMHO.
  4. But what is a real fan? Reality is some are dedicated - 13000 or so at SMS this year. Thick and thin. 18000 didnt go as Lowe was there, credit crunch, Wotte and JP were crap, the team were useless, fickle? Yeah.... red and white? Yes. Saints fan is a Saints fan. Reality is if your team is **** and losing, club is badly run and you're uninspired by the manager even those who fill the stadium wont come... let alone the million or so who say they like Saints but have never done anything other than look out for their score in the media. Fan is a fan regardless of dedication. More come if we're well run and winning. But put losers in charge and we lose... and dont go. This is the real world. So, lets hope the Swiss can inspire some optimism and fans to go above the 13000 diehards. That may mean employing some winners... from middle management to the bench.
  5. Sort of, but in this case the sheep were generally correct! Vast majority agree with you Mole.
  6. You were never wrong Mole. Most of us know this was spot on and it would indeed work out like this. Someof us even said this couldve happened 1-2 years ago before we had kids, Dutch, Lowe, Administration and relegation. Some can't accept being wrong. But hey, stick by your guns and be vindicated or admit you're wrong and apologise. Always played that game here. Not apologised much this year... and nor should you. Well read.
  7. Honourable to employ a tactically inept manager who has relegated not just Saints but 70% of all other clubs he's managed, slags off the fans at the call of Mr Lowe, was part of the original gang who said Youth total football would work and cant even motivate his team to beat non-league sides? I'd take a dishonourable tactical genuis with manmanagement skills and an understanding of League 1 and the CCC before Lowe's choice.
  8. I put this as a veiled dig at Wotte. I didnt really believe in my heart he'd draw another game against minnows, even in a friendly. But, sigh... he either doesnt care, his players dont care or we are at non-league standard in League 1 heading for our standard. Acceptable? No. Not after Eastleigh. Loyalty is nice... results are everything. I hope this is just a blip... but then there is enough evidence after 6 months and losing our better players to work out where we are heading under the current managerial and player set up. I hope... really hope that we see some serious Swiss investment tomorrow. I hope they know what they must do to unite us and ride the wave of optimism... Get a bloody good manager and some bloody good players.
  9. lol until he goes...! 2-2 genuis tonight. ahhh.. inspiration, tactics and leadership.
  10. 2-2... I thought someone was taking the ****. Wotte load of crap. I know I dont usually care about friendlies as they are for tactics testing and fitness and avoidance of injuries are important.... but frankly a draw against minnows Eastleigh and Totton is perhaps not really good enough? I feel a little under whelmed and well... lacking inspiration and leadership?
  11. Manager is the first go to be honest... or the Swiss have seriously misread the fan base. Saga - love to keep. But bottom line is there are few mature players who are likely to be impresed with playing for Wotte in League 1 so he's off. Rasiak - Love to keep but definately ditto above given Wotte was part of the central staff at SMS who sent him away. Euell - will be good and might stay as Wotte was allowed to play him. John - god I hope so but ditto Rasiak I suspect. We so need to buy some men. We can't rebuild this club however until we lose the orange one... unless the Swiss have ALOT of cash, in which case they can bail out the loyal tactical disaster himself.
  12. ...and I've forgotten where I am wrong as so far I havent been and you and I both seem to agree on Wotte!
  13. Can someone PLEASE tell us what happened in the 2nd half?!
  14. No way? Really?
  15. This is the image for tomorrow... for so many reasons!
  16. Indeed. But my guff of the last year was - sadly - correct. Just one more guff to go, which again merely reflects the majority if I'm honest, Wotte must go for unity and optimism to stand a chance. And your posts at least generated debate instead of dull and pointless slagging - you generate discussion. Swiss ambition will be on the line from tomorrow. If they stick with him we'll have no choice mind. Not quite there yet Jay.... but bloody nearly! Can't wait! Bring on the optimism!
  17. I just remembered another reason Barclays quoted for Lowe's sacking... was it not that he FAILED to attract investment? You're right Jay, can't see that being the case in a million years... and certainly can't see the new owners daring to admit it even if it was true!
  18. Oh rly? Nah. Factually wrong once more ol' sparing partner. Come over to the celebrations... we just got ourselves some optimism over here...
  19. Another reason to thank Rupert apart from allowing us to enjoy the humiliation of his sacking for poor financial acumen? Cool.
  20. You've spouted crap throughout this whole admin episode mate in your little world. And whats more you spouted crap in your little world about how good Wotte is. You've been proven wrong on the former and even if Wotte keeps his job will no doubt be seen to have talked crap on the latter. I am quite happy. My **** get him out rant happily came to an end when Barclays acted decisively and when the new owners unite the fanbase with a new manager - hopefully very shortly - I will enjoy another celebratory wine. You've been wrong. Come into my bubble! It's nicer... lots more fans in it.
  21. No. There were always buyers. There were buyers two years ago, there wouldve been buyers last summer, there were 19 with 6 serious ones on day one of administration. There will always be people willing to buy Football clubs, particularly ones with infrastructure, fans and history.
  22. Hope his Egyptian is OK, I think he'll be needing it.
  23. One man losing his job is another man gaining his job. The latter starts with the confidence of those appointing him, the former has lost it.
