  1. Lol. Ok take that one!
  2. Makes you wonder if Pulis wanted Cork... Or was it being driven by the Boardroom. Has Cork ever had a manager who wanted him in a first team spot? Marino? Potty Chino? Koeman?
  3. Because despite my ruthlessness in wanting Vlaar to also help fill a relegation place, I can't help but have a soft spot off the Villians. Palarse on the other hand are just another London Club.... although I have been very impressed by their fans (especially at home last season). 12th men or what! If the Northam sang like them every week?.... wow.
  4. CB, Koemans a x3 Centre Back man. We have x2 premier League quality players at Full Back, surely one more Vlaar... .?
  5. 3 years for Koeman isn't enough. I hope he's the next Wenger. I'd love to see his contract extended to 5 years now... And frankly he hasn't even kicked a ball in anger yet. Continuity is the secret of football management. It means the fans, players and Boardroom are in balance.
  6. Pulis gone. Cork stays!? Buy Vlaar and that's Palarse and Villa going down!! We're nearly safe!
  7. Agreed. We need the Vlaar! Then I will give Reed and Krueger a big kiss on judgement day and say sorry.
  8. 22????!!! I didn't realise he was that young. Blimey he's good.
  9. --------------------Forster------------------------- Clyne-----Gardos----Fonte-----Vlaar-----Bertrand --------------Tadic----Wanyama---JWP---------- ---------------------Pelle----Long------------------ That's one option. Bertrand and Clyne as attacking wing backs. Looks good. Also explains why Koeman seems to be after another attacking winger who like Tadic can deliver a cracking ball in and overlap with the wing backs. JWP could then mix it up with Big Vic depending how defence v attacking you needed to be.
  10. Oh good thread this. Great question. The squad MIGHT BECOME stronger but currently is nowhere near last seasons team. If only we'd kept all our players and bought in Forster, Tadic and Pelle over the summer. We'd be on our way to Europe.
  11. I know it ended in tears but, Wasn't Super Kev #7? Seeing as Pelle is the new Quinn, seems the right shirt to give him! Wonder if Long or Koeman realise how much the 7 shirts means to fans? Obviously Krueger wouldn't have a clue.
  12. Yes but it was Arry and you're not allowed to mention him on the forum except negatively - so there you go Hajto, utter disgrace to the shirt!
  13. 7????? Bugga. We're not signing Ings then.
  14. He sounds genuinely chuffed to be coming to Southampton. How cool is that? Refreshing after Lovren.
  15. We are still not in the top 8 for spending in the PL this summer.... But we're getting there SOG I think we are nearly there, but not yet.
  16. I think one more CB, possibly another striker and a winger. We still have Loadsa Money! BBCs Krueger Judgement Day table seems to indicate we could easily secure 2-3 more and have some change.... How the Saints moved on from their summer exodus (estimated transfer fees) OUTS INS Rickie Lambert £4m Grazing Pelle £9m Adam Lallana £25m Dusan Tadic £10.9m Luke Shaw £27m Ryan Bertrand (loan - £10m option to buy) Dejan Lovren £20m Florin Gardos £7m Calum Chambers £16m Saphir Taider (loan - £7m option to buy) Dani Osvaldo(loan - £5.6m)Shane Long £12m Billy Sharp Nominal Fraser Forster £10m £97.6m in / £65.9m out = £37m still to go!!!!!!!! LOADSA MONEY, We could also be adding Schneiderlin, Boruc and Cork transfer fees to this pile too.
  17. Good good good. For me this is the most important summer signing we can get. Premier League experience, a leader, a Dutchman, another Centre Back (I welcome Gardos but we need x2 in my opinion). And, he's good and this would be a statement of intent by the club. Slightly more ruthlessly, taking Vlaar may commit Villa to the Championship. That's one less relegation place we need to worry about as a bottom half team this season. Vlaar - get Vlaar Koeman!
  18. Perhaps it depends on Spider-Man leaving or staying?
  19. I think we have to tune ourselves in to a relegation season and back Koeman and his team as vocally as we can. They're going to need it.
  20. It is a fire sale. Said it all along, you sell damaged goods during a fire sale. Trouble is - is Cork damaged goods?? Not sure he is, it's just we already have competition for the defensive midfield slot. We are in a relegation battle this season..... until it looks like we're not. As fans we need to get back into the strong supporting 12th man relegation mode we've forgotten how to do under Cortese. If Koeman is a genius then we can ease up and enjoy) but I hope the fans at Anfield on Sunday give a really strong account of themselves. We will need the Northam like the bad old days I'm afraid. But if we survive (I think we should) then watch Koeman kick us on!
  21. Me too to be honest. But, is letting Cork go a step too far this early in the season? Dependability versus someone with much to learn about the Premiership and living in the UK. Taider looks promising. Cork already delivers promise. But I guess we must trust Koeman. He will understand the players he wants and who has the right attitude and where he can and can't take risk. But, when does too much too soon finally mean something? Or has our team been so poisoned by bad apples like Lallana, Lovren and possibly Schneiderlin? Perhaps it does need a clear out? And it sounds as if it's Cork not signing his contract ,(admittedly as he wants 1st team footy). Boruc next?
  22. Bottom line for me is does Koeman rate him or feel he needs him? If the answer is that he has more than enough midfielders (and let's face it Schneiderlin isn't going to be here post 1 Sep) then let him go. We have to clear some players off the wage bill. I wonder whether Cork was going to be sold in order to improve the midfield with attacking midfielders like Classie. But I wonder if Koeman was more hopeful that Schneiderlin would stay - and now he is talking in the media again about gentle men's agreements to leave etc. Also, despite looking attacking on Saturday (we were a goal down don't forget) Taider was sold to us as a defensive midfielder, Corks replacement already in place? My only concern is that we are removing the heart of a Premier League quality side. None of the replacements are proven in this league and one or two are statistically destined to fail. Cork is dependable in this league, Taider has a way to go yet.
  23. Blimey - I thought Puncheon did rather well at Palarce. We certainly missed him. If we lose Cork do we get Jordie Classie to replace him? If so, so be it.
  24. He wont be our CB for very long.
