He’s a mid-upper Championship level manager, as proven last season, whose teams concede goals for fun. The PL with Russ was always an utter disaster waiting to happen, and so it’s proving. As I stated after Brentford, if we appointed him after RH was sacked there isn’t one person who would have been happy. Not one.

I’m on the very end seat of the safe standing in the Kingsland/Northam corner and I couldn’t hear a sound from the ‘wall’. The rails are also horrendous. They were there for the semi final win against WBA and I did more damage celebrating going over the top of those stupid rails than I have done for the previous 20 years of goal celebrations at St Marys. Worth considering how we would have reacted to appointing Russell Martin when Hassanhuttl was sacked. It would have been laughed out the place, much like NJ was. Scraping a promotion by finishing 4th doesn’t change that unfortunately. Out of his depth.
