If we get this signing wrong, it could very well send us down. I can’t say I’m particularly confident about it. For the first time since promotion, I genuinely feel that we’re in deep, deep trouble this season.

I’m in the US at the moment and the reaction has been interesting. There was no appetite for continuing this war, 2/3’s of US citizens were in favour of them pulling out. Biden appears to be (cleverly) IMO concentrating on internal US affairs (probably explains why the border is still shut beyond all logic) and this resonates with the American people and is a continuation of Trump policy who was an isolationist.

Nice big pay rise, ensures we won’t lose him for nothing if/when he does go. We all know contracts mean sod all. Everyone’s a winner it would appear.

As I alluded to earlier in this thread, we have a price. I was told it was £40million but that has obviously increased. Make no mistake, if that asking price is met, he leaves. For what it’s worth, I’d be seriously considering a £50million offer to be honest.

Remember writing on here last summer that id drive him up to Leicester myself. He improved last season for sure, but I’d never seen anyone so tall get out-jumped so often, and let’s be honest, slow doesn’t come close to it.

Probably the best time to be playing Everton. Although it’s probably the best time to be playing us too. We’ll probably lose just because we always do.
