  1. Managers come and go. Pompey are not a laughing stock, but they will be if they appoint a League 1 manager from a provincial backwater like some other club that I know of !
  2. Hoddle was rejected by fans because of a personal vendetta rather than footballing reasons. A minority put principle before club. This was very laudible but they were warned of the consequences. The vast majority of fans would have had Hoddle back for the good of the club, even if it had meant holding their noses. Surprisingly, when you consider their lack of intellect, the blue noses knew what was best for their club and let 'Arry back even when he had left for their deadliest rivals !!! Hoddle left for Spuds, and Harry left for Spuds. There is no loyalty in football and fans shouldn't take it personally. MLT was a very rare exception.
  3. Keep the faith. There is going to be a book on this particular period of the clubs history, can't think of a title yet but like that of 'Second Best'.
  4. Well said, and the nonsense started in 2004. If we had employed Glenn Hoddle we surely would not have been relegated, that is the crux of the matter, like it or not.
  5. Just got back to Norwich. Interesting that Harry has gone to Spuds. I reckon Harry will fail with the Spuds, Pompey's form will decline. The board will try andd get Harry back. 1. If the do and the fans use their sense Pompey will survive as a Premier outfit. 2. If they don't it will be because a small minority call Harry a Judas and the board will take fright. In the case of the second scenario, Pompey will find themselves relegated and after a couple of seasons virtually bankrupt and heading for Div 1.
  6. This could be a good opportunity for all fans to show Glenn that we want him back to save our club !!!
  7. Maybe he will bring Glenn back to Saints one day.
  8. Seconded
  9. Feelings are running very high at the moment. I can understand this. I have still not got over the 2004 non appointment of Gh debacle and it is killing me.
  10. The trouble is that our team is too young and inexperienced. We do need some big experienced players in the team to help and look after the youngsters on the pitch. We can only do this by getting in loan players or players coming towards the end of their careers. JP has no contacts in the English leagues wheras NP did. IMO opninion we need a manager that can pull a few strings.
  11. To find the probelm we need to work backwards. Just before WGS left issues needed to be addressed. This included appointing the right manager and coach. From this point we made the wrong decision and seemed to have been incapable of making a good decision since. I must admit the sacking of NP was very bizzare !
  12. Well said !
  13. Agree with St. Marco we are going round in circles, spiralling downwards.
  14. It's called 'gallows humour' and it is more like reactionary humour than enjoyable humour.
  15. That is your interpretation. I would say I was persistent and determined.
  16. Very good post. Says it all.
  17. Sorry !
  18. Exactly the type of argument that got us into this mess. SFC have not got the luxury of appointing polite managers, we need the best available. BD would be much better than what we have now, although not my first choice.
  19. I suppose you feel bad about your part in the anti Hoddle protest in 2004, considering what it has led too.

  23. Whatever you say, my campaign moves into its fifth year soon.
  24. Ok everyone, lets all lobby to get Glenn back, after four and a half years enough is enough !
  25. I'll take your word for it.
