Enough for what? Considering all other Prem clubs will get the same...
-
A part of what has been leaked to the press is that Cortese has many people within football who would be interested in him. I'd assume those in football would know if that were true so to me it seems like a tactic which put's pressure on the Liebherrs rather than alerting other clubs to his potential availability.
-
And I see that you're struggling to grasp that whilst there are some things which could improve, these are low in the list of priorities for a football club where onfield success and massive increase in revenue are the ultimate benchmarks of success. You can't compare successive promotions back to prem, staying in the prem and a little trophy along the way with issues with the hospitality and conclude that performance has been "poor".
-
It was an average job Cortese has done in his post before. Been downgraded to poor now!
-
You're either very stupid or on a wind up.
-
There would be issues at every club in the country if that were true (relatively speaking)
-
What about chairman who use resources to achieve on field success whilst also backing the future of the club with state of the art infrastructure which will benefit the club for years once they have left? Cortese has done far more than just chuked a few pennies at the team. Even players we recruit are part of a wider philosophy which benefits the club in getting, in the most part, young and talented players with the capacity to grow and improve and at least retain value....with the right attitude to boot. Nothing which we have achieved has happened by accident, even unpopular managerial decisions have been correct. How many get 3 in a row right? Given that we had just come through the shambles of administration which no identity and infrastructure in place, to get to where we have in the timeframe we have is a remarkable achievement and if anyone wishes to downplay that achievement then I would question their motive as to why.

Next season: Saints best ever chance to win the Premier League?
Dig Dig replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
Oh god, months of dweebs announcing that there were hordes of people on the internet claiming that Saints can win the league next season. -
This is getting a little awkward
-
Have you not heard that the Chairman is the least important person at club and any half decet CEO could do what Cortese has done. L1 to Prem in 3 years is easy.
-
Why don't you go as a giant D!ck?
-
Seems to sum it up well without the speculation around who doesn't like who, court cases and petty spats with ex-players
-
So, this guy works with Cortese's staff in some capacity and also has spoken to the Liebherrs. And the Liebherr he has spoken to was happy to provide information about the man who this guy contracts for in some capacity in a derogatory manner? And then the ex player is happy to go into corporate and share all of this information with a person who once logged into his "ex-girfriends" account on SWF and pretended to be her once he was banned? Clearly not the cleverest of blokes!
-
What's Simon Jordan up to these days?
-
We all know people Hypo. I'm sure you even know a few people in real life as well. Which people does this ex player know and how would an ex Southampton player have access to a member of the Liebherr family who would be happy to divulge this information? Particularly if said ex player goes off and tells people he sits next to in corporate?
-
Your famous "ex player" source! You'll have to forgive people if they don't believe everything you write on here.
-
Turkish, get on the Stoke build up thread and stop talking about the man in the suit upstairs. It doesn't matter who the chairman is.
-
Agree Cortese leaving is much more likely but which would you prefer based on what you know now?
-
Following on from todays reports abouts Cortese's position at the club I thought an interesting discussion would be the preference over seeing Cortese walk but remain under the ownership of the Liebherr estate or for Cortese to stay and secure new investment which he has previously said he can deliver. Either could be a real scenario off the back of todays media coverage so which option would you prefer should there be a parting of ways between Cortese and Liebherrs? Mods, please don't lock or move to other thread, it's a separate talking point.
-
Are you saying that they don't know and trust Cortese? Must have missed him at the Mali board meetings...
-
Not necessarily the case no but why would anyone be happy or even ambivalent about a change given what we have achieved in 4 years?
-
Sounds about right pal
-
-
Sums it up very well for me
-
Definitely. People moan that we beat Chelsea, Liverpool and City but that we lost to QPR and WBA as if we are expected to win them all.
