Just have to disagree I guess. Fox is IMO a below average defender for this level and can't see how blaming an AM like Lallana for this makes sense. For what it's worth, I was adament that Fonte wasn't as bad as people were making out early in the season but have always thought the step up would be too much for Fox so appreciated that some players are better now. Fox will always be postionally poor and too passive.

Lallana does put a shift in defensively IMO, but in the general out back 4 is more protected by two holding CMs so he could benefit from that but he'd still have enough defending to do for his personal weaknesses to be exposed.

Mainly because the weaknesses which saw Fox exposed time and time again have been ever present. In the prem, they were getting punished and you could see how the oppo targeted our left hand side. He can't stand off and and not tackle and position himself off the hip of Yoshida without leaving our entire left hand side exposed against very very good wingers. Unless Fox has improved all of this whilst not playing (unlikely) then not much will have changed, unlike the others who just needed to adapt to the demands of the prem a little more.

Hmmm, not sure I agree with your assessment there. Reading on par? I can't agree with that, there is not a single player that I would want ahead of our starting 11. We are also a better side than Villa (agree) and for all of QPR's proposed signings, there is no one that is making me sit up an notice. They will still have to handle the unrest and ego's in the camp and time has almost run out. As for the rest, we are no worse than those immediately around us and should be looking to finish above Villa, QPR and Reading without much fuss.
