Message from Tony Lynam - Saturday 20th June 12:54pm
S-Clarke replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
A CVA is basically where the company in 'administration' agrees to pay its debts and has satisfied the requirements of its creditors. Now here’s the tricky bit in our situation, it is only possible to issue a CVA to a company in administration - SLH is in administration and SFC isn't. Pinnacle haven't bid for SLH, instead they've bid for the assets instead – these are not in administration so do not require a CVA. As SLH is being wound up, it also will not be able to produce a CVA to satisfy the FL's requirements. Take a look at this: http://www.accountancyage.com/accountancyage/news/2195698/leeds-enters-league-without-cva I think our outcome will be similar to this. As the FL held an 'emergency' meeting over Leeds status too. -
But I think the question may be....what actually is the points deduction they will now make us accept?...I’m absolutely ****ting it here tbh.
-
Another article full of pointless drivel...written by the sun.
-
Thanks again tony - this is such a breath of fresh air - we're not used to being kept in the loop like this! Seriously, all the best - you're doing a great job. I really really hope we can start thinking about football matters soon.
-
IMO it'll be B. It’s to discuss the ‘exceptional circumstances’ as to which we can be added to the league without a CVA, plus any additional point penalties...that's my take on it anyway.
-
I’d love to think that could happen, but I very much doubt it tbh - that would open up a huge can of worms that will just cause a cascade effect through the entire football league - they will not let this happen. Which is why (imo) they are now clambering around trying to find other ways to get out of this, or reasons to punish us even further.
-
That's been my biggest fear since day 1...
-
But this is where they've got us. if we do that, they will not transfer our share - so we will not be able to start as a league club.
-
It just sounds so dodgy though doesn’t it? It’s like the FL are begging us not to sue/take them to court - as they know their case is completely flawed. So they are using all their powers to make sure we are not in a position to do so. Utterly disgusting, but predicable.
-
There’s the problem - there just isn’t the time to mount a legal case/court battle. It could take months.
-
I'd just get on with it with -10 tbh. If we fight it we won’t win, as the FL always win. We'll only end up with even more point’s deductions...or even worse – a non-league club. ....please don't shoot yourselves in the foot pinacle, with the right backing, even with -10 we could have a chance next season...
-
Top man tony - thanks for the message. I don't envy you guys at the moment; it's a nightmare for us and we’re only on the outside... good luck...
-
I wonder if it'll be a case of.....''If we do let them back in our league, it will have to be with -30....'' I have a horrible feeling we could be facing more points deductions, because they simply ''do not like the way'' our deal is structured. As we know, the FL just completely make it up as they go along – and until one of the big governing body’s actually stand up and confront of the FL...They’ll just continue to kill clubs off.
-
I think you're completely spot on - this development is a complete disaster.
-
don't even joke about it...!
-
I have no idea if you're right or not, but there is a reason why the names haven't been released in the media yet - they don't want to be known. so how about you keep that kind of info close to your chest until we're over the line?....
-
At last! After all those Fridays... Great news...not quite there yet, but it'll take an absolute disaster for it to fail now. After reading through all the articles it seems that the offer has been agreed in principle with the creditors too, so it all looks to be in place for a smooth ending to all this. Is there anything MLT cannot do for this club? Time for a statue I think

I think fry started off pretty well - put himself across in the right way and said the right things....but in the last couple of weeks he is seriously getting on my nerves. within 48 hours....no 24 hours...no sorry, 1 more week. this has all been said in the public domain too, i.e. announcements to South Today /BBC Radio Solent/Daily Echo what the hell is he doing? is he trying to drive us saints fans even more up the wall than we already are? Surely in the position he is in, he should not be making time sensitive announcements until he is 110% sure we will hear something? It’s making him look like a prize idiot unfortunately. look at Portsmouth, take over interest announced on Sunday, bid accepted Tuesday, due diligence started wednesday - all came to the surface within a week - that's how it should be done, it pains me to say.
-
Ditto. I'd happily bet that over 50% of that post by rocketswanie is utter tosh.
-
there was only ever 1 bid on the table up until now. lots of expressions of interest, but only the 1 bid.
-
I personally agree with Bailey on this one, I think we should just accept it and get on with it – I’d love to fight it, don’t’ get me wrong...but I just worry the FL will start screwing us even more (because they love ruining football clubs....I saw Maw*nkers's face on SSN, he was loving it) I just want to know where we are, what we have to do, with no uncertainty on our backs next year...the FL are complete ****s, so there is every chance they are poised to screw us even more if we kick up a fuss (Leeds...)
-
v good signing for us I thought he was easily scunnys best player when we played them down here last year (he played in DM that day)- didn't think we'd have a chance of getting him this season though, so I’m chuffed with this
-
On an interesting note....West Ham have put quite a few past Ipswich at Portman road tonight.... Finished 3-5 to West ham. Similar team to the one which played us, but with Dean Ashton playing...
-
Bart - 7 - Bit shaky, seemed to have some communication probs at times. But made some good saves. James - 9 - I thought he was great, attacking, defending and getting stuck in all game. Looked class. Perry - 7 - Okish...not as commanding as he was last season, a little dodgy at times I thought Killer - 7 - Solid from Killer, always talking to the defence. Understandably a little rusty though...But it's just great to see him there again. Surman - 8 - I thought he got better as the game went on, loved the way he just charged forward with the ball from left back at times. Reminded me a bit of bridgey... Thompson - 7 - Started quietly, but good better. Unlucky with the one on one...but he gave us a real threat down the right. Gillett - 8 - A terrier..in their faces all game, a great crosser of the ball as well and seems to have the ability to pick out a v nice pass.. Spiderman - 10 - I love him already - oozes class. How did we get him here? Some of his cross field passes to Holmes were great... he just worked tirelessly all game. Holmes - 8 - As some have said, I was a bit sceptical about him from the other games in pre-season, but he stood out for me. Caused them all sorts of problems down the left, and worked well with surman imo... Lallana - 7 - He was quiet...didn't really see that much of him, popped up with some nice touches every now and then, but didn't really get involved as much as he can. Mcgoldrick - 8 - Great goals, first one was a peach. Seemed to come alive after that, hopefully he can take that into the new season.

Yep...esp Lloyd james at right back, who was excellent and committed. He had karl reid in his pocket all game.
