  1. Slightly OTT. We'll be promoting further players from the academy which will take the departing players spaces. Obviously there will be new transfer additions, but we won't be buying 8 new players. 2 or 3, with the rest coming up from the academy I'd have thought. (Gallagher/Reed/JWP/Targett/Hasketh) all playing a stronger role next year.
  2. No it wouldn't, he's horrific. We got a jail out of free card on that one.
  3. As good as a twitter rumour then? At the end of the day he'll go, along with a few others this pre-season. We just need to get it out of the way early so it doesn't drag out an entire summer.
  4. Was class in L1 for us, but not quite good enough in levels above that unfortunately. But will be remembered fondly by everyone, really hope he gets his move back to Brazil.
  5. Just about this game, rather than the season as a whole, but how bad are Man Utd? Serious dross, and they need some massive fixing in the summer. Frustrating we couldn't do anything really, as we had them on the ropes for most of that first half - good first goal, but should have been more. 2nd half was a total non-event to be honest, like a training exercise - all a bit odd! Imagine it was down the players just calming down for the forthcoming world cup, but it didn't exactly make captivating viewing!!
  6. Every player was waving. Are they all off? You cannot read anything into end of season walk about's. He may well be off, but what happens in the end of season walk round doesn't mean anything.
  7. Hopefully the moron is banned for good. Clearly not a saints fan, just hear to wind up. Probably not even a football fan, just one of these very odd beings that only seem to exist on the internet.
  8. Congratulations, you have been officially unveiled as WUM.
  9. Says it all really, and it's a true statement - but kind of does mean that this is where we stop, there is no intention to invest to bridge any sort of gap. We'd have to go toe to toe with those clubs to go any further, and clearly were' not able to financially. Self sustaining football club is the future, and that means every player has a valuation... It's been fun, but today was the end of an incredibly fun era.
  10. In some of the main tabloids today, will have to see I guess. But the fact that Roy has know it for a while and the fact that it's announced tomorrow....kind of possible there could be a leak.
  11. There for the experience more than anything, I imagine. Can't argue that as a player he has had an incredible amount of success winning things, so why not have him around the place! Doesn't mean he plays though...
  12. Leaked to the press today, apparently. We look to have 3 in the squad. Joe Hart, Ben Foster, John Ruddy, Glen Johnson, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Leighton Baines, Luke Shaw, Jordan Henderson, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Jack Wilshere, Ros Barkley, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge, Chamberlain, Sterling, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Rickie Lambert
  13. Thanks @SouthamptonFC & the #saintsfc fans for the past amazing 3 years. We hope @VehoWorld enjoy it as much as we did pic.twitter.com/T2KSbvKEOm
  14. And let's not forget a certain THEVMAN who not so recently posted his last post, in which he said 2/3 important players will leave this summer.
  15. That's what I fear too bear, but let's see what happens. The thing with NC is that he didn't give a **** about reputations or what people though about his answers.
  16. Absolutely, next season well may be a struggle, but we're all still fans of exactly the same side. Just may happen to be a few different people representing it.
  17. He's just trying to WUM, looks like he's getting a good response to it as well.
  18. Came on as a sub against Huddersfield for his debut, I believe. Looked the real deal I felt, pacey, quick, attacked players. Not sure he featured after that though, maybe a few mins on the last day I seem to remember? He kicked on in pre-season though, but prior to that - you're right, it was all about flaming bloody Antonio and how he is the next Messi!
  19. Yeah, your last point is something that is so special. I don't think it will ever be done again, but to see that spine (you forgot Morgan and Davis too!) move up through the leagues was magic. And how their growth as players mirrored our growth as a club is something you cannot buy, we just got very lucky and everything has fallen into place these last few years.
  20. Hernandez as in Utd's Hernadez, or Swansea's? We'd be unlikely to be able to 'poach' the little pea if we sold those players, it would confirm that we're operating at a much lower level from here on in - and Javier Hernandez is a top calibre player. We'd struggle to stay up if we lost Shaw, Lallana and Morgan IMO.
  21. Wasn't Gallagher from Plymouth's academy as well? Dare I say it....are they our feeder club?
  22. I think as a player, Sam is one that we are going to have to be patient with. We've been blessed with the likes of Oxo, Theo, Shaw, Bale etc who just burst in and instantly look like world beaters. Sam isn't quite in that mould and will need some time and support from everyone to help him become a very handy player for us. I personally don't think he's quite ready as yet for week in-week out at this level, and has been kind of thrust into the first team this year as a consequence of the lack of Osvaldo etc....but it's not a case of writing him off, which I've seen some usual suspects doing. At the end of the day, academy players don't always break through and instantly take the world by storm - Adam didn't, and look at him now. Patience is needed with young Sam, and at least the club have put their marker down on him and that should give him a hell of a lot of confidence.
  23. My high point was the end of that L1 season, how we went toe to toe with Huddersfield for the last 6 weeks or so. In any normal season, they'd have got automatic promotion as their run and form was sensational - but we were even better! Some great results in that run-in, including that MK Don's game, the last minute Brighton winner. Great end! And I guess that form just continued into the NPC season, as it allowed us to start the season with some stunning momentum which pretty much set the tone. Low point....probably how we started the PL season when we first got back, we looked so frighteningly out of our depth in the first few weeks and I for one was very worried. It wasn't a nice sight seeing us get whacked every week, especially after the last 3 seasons prior to that.
  24. Once again people, it's a sponsor. We will wear it on our shirts. They will pay for the privilege. Who actually gives a **** who it is? There are plenty more things to worry about this summer, and who the flaming sponsor is isn't one of them.
  25. Plenty of OTT reactions here. Being 'underwhelmed' by a sponsor is quite funny really.
