  1. I'm of the belief that we have near on no chance of doing anything at this world cup, so why waste the world cup with has-beens and players who won't be around for the next one? Use it as an opportunity to hand the likes of Adam, Jay, Barkley, Shaw, Chamberlain tournament experience. It's utterly pointless taking the likes of Cole, Lampard, Barry etc. It's a chance to blood some youth in one of the most anticipated world cups in decades, let's hope they see it the same way.
  2. Maybe he was carrying an injury all along? Sometimes I think it's that straight forward with Lambo.
  3. Him, along with Steve Davis IMO.
  4. That is truly ridiculous dominance. If I was a newcastle fan, I'd want a refund after that!
  5. That was a truly excellent showing, but you do have to say that Newcastle were abject. I thought Norwich were by far the worst side to come to SMS a few weeks back, but Newcastle just topped that and then some. But enough of them, and more about us. We put them to the sword from the first minute and after 15 mins some people were thinking it was one of those days, but I just knew we would score - a side cannot start as well as we did and lose the momentum, and it was true - the chances kept coming and we kept the momentum up all game long. Jay Rodriquez would have had a hat-trick on another day, but their stand in GK had the game of his life against him - and he still had 2! Was a good game in general for the England contingent, who all played pivotal roles in the performance. Lambert moved them all over the place and the pace of Jay left them stranded time and time again. Lallana just took the **** most of the afternoon. A very pleasing day and we are now above them and hopefully to stay - it would be fair reflection on the league, as in my opinion - we are the ''best of the rest'', which is an excellent achievement seeing as this is only our 2nd season back.
  6. Not quite sure of the relevance of that!
  7. Lallana would and should go for excess of £20m
  8. A club will have been scouting Morgan, Shaw, Lallana and co for years. So they're not going to look at a couple of performances at the back end of the season to make their minds up. The fact is that the clubs probably know who they want, it's just a case of if they're willing to pay what we want - can't see us stubbornly turning down £25-30m for players. We're not big enough to be able to do that.
  9. I hope he gets the move, it would be a good deal at his age. Would go with my best wishes, it's not really his fault that he's too limited for this level. He did a job when we needed him to.
  10. He's a typical work horse player, but with added technical class. Some of his touches and passes are quality, he's way better than people give him credit for. I'd never drop him from our 11 to be honest.
  11. I've never really understood how people have the time, or motivation, to complain about TV programmes. I've personally got a hell of a lot more to worry about.
  12. You are so bad at this. Give up. Seriously.
  13. He certainly wasn't fit today, looked to be running through treacle at times. I think he's so good that we simply play him if he's 60% fit, the likes of Jos and Maya aren't good enough cover and It's clear that MP isn't convinced by either. First job in the summer would be to offload Jos and replace him with another Lovren-level CB. 2nd job - bring in another striker and loan out Gallagher and JWP. 3rd job...keep the rest of the team together and tie MP down to a contract. Then we may be in business...
  14. And of course, the mess they're in is just down to barker. They're so short sighted, like a lot of clubs - changing the manager will fix everything!!!!!! The fact is that they're rotten to the core, they should have been liquidated and started up again - would have been beneficial for them, but from our point of view, it's quite funny to see the suffering prolonged.
  15. Yeah it was hindering him last year, even his team mates admitted that (I believe Lambert said as much). But he's grown so much this year, even seeing him in the England team barking out orders says it all. Full of belief and confidence and blessed with natural ability. Great combo.
  16. The summer will provide the answers. If the plan is to achieve European football with academy players, then we can't be selling our best ones. Pretty simple really, I'd have thought. All speculation up until the summer though really.
  17. Squad isn't big enough, simple as that really. Players like JWP aren't strong enough to come in and replace Morgan or Wanyama. Wanyama was the bigger reason for our defensive record at the start of the season and the fact he's been missing most of the 2nd half shows. Our first 11 is terrific and a match for all teams in the league, but with injuries, fatigue and suspension we cannot go toe to toe with them. Hopefully we'll evolve further in the summer to help cure this problem.
  18. Why anyone would conciser or question his position is beyond me. For me, him staying is key to our long-term goals. If he goes, we become another Villa. Selling the top England boys, not replacing them and plodding along. Keeping MP would show ambition and intent, I'd love to know who could do a better job. We're very, very lucky to have him. Some people are getting a little carried away with this season, possibly the same lot who thought we were title contenders back in October? The majority of us knew we were a good side, but we didn't have the depth to sustain any challenge with the 'big 6' in this league - and that has proven correct. The fact that we've stayed nip and tuck with them all season is credit to the management and the way we play. Sure, some games have been frustrating, we've dropped a lot of points and have some disastrous results - but that's in isolation. If you look at the season as a whole it's been one of progression, ambition and excitement. MP is one of the key components to that, we will miss him and rue the day when he leaves. He's being linked to Madrid, PSG, Monaco and Spurs, but apparently not good enough for us. Go figure.
  19. Come on mate, you cannot be expecting either of those to be a free kick - especially the 2nd one. Lovren went in too tight, was too weak and got done. Simple as that. If a free kick was given against us in that situation you would be fuming, it wasn't a free kick. It was utter **** defending.
  20. Not the first time, no, but one of a handful of poor moments in his saints career. Confused by the posts coming out regarding Lovren ''He's gifted loads of goals this season'' ''not the first time this season he's been poor''. Be thankful for what you've got. We're lucky to have someone like Lovren at this club, we may well end up with Jos and Maya as our partnership next year - who knows. Yes, he had a poor, poor game, but he's the runner up to POS for me. A true international CB.
  21. Load of turd. At least we won't be losing any players based on that 2nd half, one of the worst 45 mins of our season by far performance wise. Just out-muscled, out thought/fought and out played. A pretty average spurs team, it has to be said, but it was gifted to them in that 45. 9th is probably our max this year, can't see us finishing any higher. Still a very good season, but will be left with the overwhelming feeling that we should have done so much better.
  22. An absolute disaster of a result if we're honest. Season is well and truly done, dusted. gone.
  23. Alpine for manager, assistant, chairman and captain. Then all will be fine.
  24. Why didn't we just take that chance! too many passes.
  25. Erickson is such a class act.
