That’s not strictly true though is it? He used his lawyers to help him get out of it on a technicality and some of us have had a stomach full of that recently.
I think when people refer to a pay as you play deal what they actually mean is the old fashioned basic wage with bonuses for games played, goals scored, assists, other targets reached etc
I thought I read that the club were hoping to keep Ross either way but wanted to renegotiate the terms of the contract. Could mean anything - extra couple of years at a reduced rate, more weighted towards actual games played? Not necessarily all to Ross’s detriment.
Is Dragan still in the country? Perhaps he’s taken the whole thing in hand. As far as I remember one of our members who moves in legal circles spoke of various chambers being sounded out about taking our case on re suing the EFL and goodness knows who else. Since then we’ve heard absolutely nothing from any of our usual ITK. No hints of what went on in players meeting with Tonda etc, Alfie and Adam have really only been speculating. All points to a complete shut down behind the scenes while they get their ducks in a row to me.
People keep saying we haven't contested the charge and therefore we have accepted it. Is there actually a mechanism to contest the charge before the hearing?
This is beyond ludicrous now. Boro are definitely bringing the game into disrepute and I hope we are storing up enough evidence to sue them to Kingdom come. In no way is this worthy of a fine of millions and a 6 or more point penalty but those figures are being bandied about so that we're relieved when it's less than that. Only positive is that the longer it goes on, the deeper Gibson digs himself in.
Personally I think this is what Gibson is after having already got away with it once. Sadly for him I think he’s picked on the wrong club. We seem to be sitting back calmly while he digs himself into an ever deeper hole.
