If the season pans out like that then you’re probably right. I would like to think he is an intelligent guy who’ll work out how to get the best from his squad. It wasn’t that long ago that a lot of people were questioning Tuchel, an intelligent manager who has now worked it out. I’m not saying Eckert can be compared to his countryman, but there is a chance that he can work it out and show he isn’t another philosophy manager wedded to one system.

Nobody will buy him. We’ll be lucky to find anyone to loan him.
-
When does his contract end?
-
Yep. He would seriously struggle to get a start in the National League.
-
Players comfort zone. Shite.
-
Maybe he needs an experienced assistant who will get in their faces then.
-
As far as I'm concerned, unless it's game management and we're winning, it's players cheating. Too easy, that's why they liked Russell Martin - that and all the days off he gave them. They need a rocket up their arses.

I can't comment on today as I didn't see it. However, I think 5 at the back leaves us vulnerable at times in midfield. Don't get me wrong, we've looked fantastic at times under Eckert, but the system really relies on Fellows, Scienza and Azaz. If we can't get the ball to them, or in the case of today, one of them is injured, we aren't that difficult to play against. Eckert strikes me as an intelligent guy. At times it is probably better to play 4 at the back and have more in midfield. I'm sure he'll work it out.

It is imperative that we bring a keeper in at the start of the window. How anyone can defend Bazunu is absolutely beyond me. He's like the outfield player that went in goal in the 70's when the keeper got injured. Useless.
-
I only caught the last few minutes of the game on the radio. Tessem said that it wasn't Azaz fault and that the team weren't getting the ball to him. He also questioned Archer's commitment in one passage of play saying he should have sprinted.
-
Why are you so sure we’re not buying a keeper? We could loan one. Bazunu is not good enough.
-
I agree, but he defends much better than Fraser.
-
We don’t, but Edwards did his defensive duties on the right well against Birmingham. I think he was a better option than Fraser last night.
-
Is being critical of his performance after the game not supporting him? As long as you support him in the 90 minutes surely you can be as objective as you like afterwards.
-
I agree, but I think Tonda will work this out. He brought Edwards on Saturday when Fellows was getting beaten and we looked a lot stronger at the back for it. I think it was a mistake to put Frazer instead of Edwards last night but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
-
Thought Downes was excellent again. Great win. Just a bit critical of our wing backs when we’re under the cosh - none of them - Manning, Fellows or Frazer can defend. Would have preferred Edwards to come on and play the right side when Fellows was subbed. How good was that first half though.
-
This one’s personal for me. Never forgiven Doncaster for knocking us out of the English Schools Trophy in 1985 - quarter finals, second replay. They went on to win it, which should have been us. Fucking hammer the wankers.

So they don't mind nonces in the church, or liars that put post-office workers in jail but they draw the line at those who don't agree with how the government deal with illegal immigration. Righto.

The official FIFA world cup thread
Wade Garrett replied to Stripey McStripe Shirt's topic in The Saints
Couldn’t really give a toss about the World Cup any more. Preferred it when it alternated between Europe and S America. FIFA just whore it out to the highest bidder these days. Greedy, corrupt bastards. Infantino is even more bent than Blatter.- 102 replies

Would like to see Welington starting.

Keeper the most important position to strengthen imo. No problem scoring goals at the moment, we’re banging them in.
-
Another 6-8 million down the shitter. This isn’t Football Manager.
-
I’m not going to bury the keeper for their goal. If anything I blame the midfielder who didn’t close Gray down quicker once he turned inside. I do hope we get a new keeper in on Jan 1st though.
-
To be fair, I don’t think he would have made those subs if we didn’t have a midweek game.
-
Good response to last week. Also astute to bring Edwards on to shore up our right side.
