Bellis, Downes, Scienza and Fellows were very good today. We were deserved winners and could have had more but for some good saves and poor finishing.
-
They didn’t do a lot to win it though. Tactically negated us, and that’s my fear with the new manager. He had no answer last week and made some Still-esque subs. Put it down to inexperience, that’s fair enough. But he needs to be a quick learner. He’s obviously intelligent, so hopefully he’ll know what to do going forward.

Bazunu can’t stop shots. Millwall were taking pot shots because they know this. Watch Birmingham do the same today.Might as well play Cam Bragg in goal if it’s that important for a keeper to beat the press rather than stop shots. 5 at the back leaves us short in the middle of the park. We started winning because the players decided to start trying. Adam Armstrong told us in an interview with the Echo. He’s ok if we play well and can counter the opposition when, like Millwall, inferior players beat us with better tactics. Personally, I would prefer 4-2-3-1, but what do I know. That said, good luck to the guy. I obviously want him to succeed.

SR just gone for another manager they can push around. If he goes 4 at the back and drops Bazunu and Stephens I’ll admit i was wrong on that.
-
Sensible view. I think tomorrow will be a good barometer for the manager. Will he be strong enough to make changes needed? I hope so, because if he lets the influential players dictate, we’re going down the shitter. Would be a master stroke to get an experienced guy involved in the set-up.

I think it will end in tears if they go in that direction.
-
Wondered when it was. Thanks for the information.

Nick Illingsworth reckons we are going to appoint someone before the Birmingham game.
-
I reckon Souness might be advising Dragan. They definitely know each other. Rasmus advising him would be like Barclays Bank being advised by Nick Leeson.
-
Who could you be talking about? 😂
-
How many of the new coaching staff, including Eckert, have played a decent level of professional football? I’m not convinced this is good.
-
Welington for Manning, we've also got Quarshie, Edwards or the option of only playing 2 CBs for Stephens.
-
There’s not throwing him under the bus and there’s praising him for his performance when we could all see it for what it was.
-
They are both really poor at defending, full stop. Manning never cuts crosses out as he doesn’t get close enough to wingers. If I was the keeper and would go fucking mad at him every game. Stephens is a ball watcher who is always losing his man in the box, but apparently he’s a good lad in the dressing room so that doesn’t matter.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Wade Garrett replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Surely Reeves has misled financial markets with her pre-budget news conference? Makes no difference if she and Starmer go. Unless there's a general election we'll just have another couple of numpties subservient to the idiot left of the party. -
A real test for Eckert now Millwall have shown how to nullify us. Will be interesting to see how we’re set up to play. Personally, I would love to see 4-2-3-1, with Manning and Stephens out of the side. Sadly I don’t think it will happen.

Fair.
-
He needs a run of games to make sure he’s suspended over Christmas.
-
Agreed. His effort was scandalous yesterday.
-
Read the thread. There are plenty of names.
-
I wouldn’t mind Carrick or Solskjaer.
-
Not for this level, although Stephens and Manning are poor defenders, I wouldn't start either of them. Stephens is a ball-watcher and Manning never stops a cross. Fellows is a winger being played out of position.
-
Exactly right, which is why I would prefer an experienced manager who played to a good level. Shirkers need to be pulled up, and the troublesome ones need to be sorted.
-
Let them get their experience and make their mistakes somewhere else.
