For these pupils, vocational courses are a life line.

Did anyone else hear him on 5Live the other day? The most arrogant self serving ***** I've ever heard. His utter ignorance as to the needs of society and in turn the pupil, is staggering. Some pupils at 15/16 don't have aspirations to go to uni: let them do vocational courses such as brick laying. By forcing them to do subjects they don't care about (I.e history/geography) not only do you lessen the acceptability of those subjects, but you also devalue that child's potential contribution to society.
