The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

Then you should have worked in the public sector! Jesus! I weighed up which sector had the most benefits and took a job in it. I used my head when choosing a career. Maybe you should have done the same? -

Any evidence for this ridiculous sweeping statement? -

FA Cup 1st Round Draw-Sunday- Shrewsbury at home

Luton vs St.Albans will be tasty in that 4th qualifying round. Personally I think we'll get a league team and crash out; which wouldn't be a bad thing really. -

Post of the ****ing century - claiming Blair and Brown are almost 'up there' with Hitler and Stalin. I also can't remember any true socialists protesting agains the Iraq war either! Absolute joke you and TDD. -

That's not the point I was making was it?! Cameron has 'promised' (for however much his promises are worth) that the private will take up the slack. I'm not expecting it to be able to take up all half a million however. I'm no economist, but I imagine it's would cost the government more in JSA/no income tax being paid etc than to employ the 500,000 in the long term, so I would imagine the government needs the private to take on some of these poor sods who are about to be made redundant if the government is to make any saving at all. -

According to the Guardian, nearly 500,000 public sector jobs are to be axed...we will see what happens there but if it is the case the private sector MUST WITHOUT FAIL take up the slack. -
Yes we were terrible and yes I had the misfortune of being there to witness it, but let's not get too OTT. It was the first game in 5 that we lost to a team who are one of our main rivals for promotion this year. Look at Arsenal against Chelsea a few weeks back. Lee Clark sussed us out well and Huddersfield stopped us from playing football for large parts of the game.

On a similar note I thought it was going to be that 'Surfin' Bird' song? -
That's because you are old. You had your Olympics in 1946! Seriously though, I can't wait. Events like this NEVER happen in England/Britain and I for one can't wait. Excellent prices, shame I'll be in Greece getting married for the majority of it! Hopefully will be able to go to one or two events at least seeing as I live in Essex.

Based on today, Cameron can equally make himself look like a divy. Either way, for his first PMQs, he did well and that is that. We can re-evaluate his performances etc at a later date.

How is it nearly ten past five and NO-ONE has mentioned 'Trendy Dave's' meeting with Arnie? See Dune, 'Trendy Dave' is just as 'clueless' in the media stakes...

A classic Stanley post.

Certainly a reasonable analysis of his performance if YOU say so. I'm going to watch it after I get home from work and I shall give you my partisan judgment on his performance as well. Deary me.

That's because Germany has a massive industrial base. Where is ours?

You're missing the point though surely? That being that he and his trader mates are not suffering like you or I. A small gesture like I stated earlier would be all it would take for the City to reverse the damage it has caused. How can we 'all be in this together' when I don't even see a token gesture from the banking sector?! Footballers and JK Rowling etc didn't mess around with world economies so I don't expect them to be lambasted.
-
I must admit, I thought it has been very '1700' in the press regarding this; they're referring to the poorer classes almost as if they are Plebian (in the sense of the industrial revolution). From a personal point of view, it's a good idea in theory, I certainly wouldn't have more children then I could afford (but we musn't use the language of 'capping' children) however, he needs to be careful on how he phrases it in order to stop comparisons with China or from having complaints from religious groups such as Catholics.

Yeah he doesn't need it agreed. I won't moan if he removes it for the rich: I didn't moan when he got rid of child support for them, in fact I agreed with him. My Grandparents need their winter fuel allowance as I imagine the majority of pensioners do, but I won't feel sorry for Bobby Charlton (for example) if he loses his!

I agree with the sentiment, I really do, but the phrase 'pull together' makes me cringe. When I see the bankers (note, not the private sector in general) give up their bonuses and the government take it as an extra tax for just one or two measly years (much like the public sector payrises which I was not against by the way) then I will 'climb on board' but from where I'm sitting, it's the same it's always been: The super rich get away with it, the rest of us get screwed.
