So does this mean the league will now apply the manditory -10 points?
-
This one is brilliant....although there seems a strong hint that he's one of us! Theawfultwoof: One assumes he'd done no research whatsoever then? Since the now over 1500 pages of the "pompey takeover" thread on saints web (you know, the source where Micah Hall gets all his information) started in 2009.) Or did he just see a large paypacket like all the mercinaries at the club on "pittance"?
-
We should know, we lost an FA Cup final to em.
-
I once (as part of my a-level project on the scramble for Africa) once read Ian Douglas Smith's biography where he suggests that politicians spend a vast amount more time before signing a contract or offering one, actually drawinf up ways in which it can be opted out of, kinda plausable denial....I can see that happening.
-
A lot of companies never bothered to re-negotiate though and left a gaping huge hole which was impossible to fill...I assume you forget why the 1997 General Election was such a landslide then?
-
I found this little beauty a while ago and wondered when it would be best to throw it on here.....JFK was indeed a smart man (not really surprising they killed him then) Note his example of what "rich men in straw hats" had to say to him, he was surprisinly progressive....

You are wrong about Labour and pensions Derry. I assume you are aware of the surpless levels of pension money when the conservatives came in and (you probably know this already) Maragret Thatcher decided that it would be a smart idea to allow most larger companies to have a "pension break" therefor lowering or indeed stopping their pension payments. That caused the pension problem and after they were kicked our for being useless (kids these days before the current government forget this) and hated so much they lost so badly, giving labour such a lead it took over a decade to overcome....and to allow people to put rose-tinted glasses on about the previous government, but after such a long "pension break" it would have cost the incoming labour government a fortune. I agree though, the Thatcher government were a least a tiny bit caring, unlike these out of touch millionaires led by an Astor.

Nail on the head exactly; for example, companies pay a lot of people to work part time simply because they don't want to pay them higher levels so where is the sense in telling people they need to find higher paid work when it simply isn't about? Universal tax credit sounds like a creditable idea however.
-
That was my point earlier; the latest government scheme is that if you do not earn that "base level" and you claim something like rent rebate to assist with rent costs, you will be treated as unemployed, suggested that you should leave the job you have and find a higher paid one....which I think is a bit silly.
-
See there's the problem..."able-bodied" what does that mean exactly? being that disabled doesn't mean "in a wheelchair"...she could have problems you just can't see. I think it's the old "hidden in plain sight" arguement.
-
I think you'll find it's only the disabled that qualify for tax credits after 16 hours of work a week (this however is being removed) and in fact I think it's more like 35.
-
I like the latest wheeze they've (the coalition government) come out with(bare in mind we're a nation of part time workers): "if you have a part-time job and work less than 35 hours a week (for example the disabled who often can't do much more) and claim rent rebate (I think it's called Housing benefit) for such a low income, you'll be treated as unemployed and asked to attend training sessions, look for a minimum amount of jobs or face the threat of being "sanctioned" and having this housing benefit taken away from you". Really, I don't see the sense in that.

From Hateley's head on the Snooze: "If The Trust don't get control and Portpin do, the best thing The Trust can do with the money and their time, is start preparing to form a new Portsmouth based football team. Because there ain't going to be anything left worth saving once Chanrai's finished. PUP!" Shouldn't you hwave started that a year ago? instead of blabbering on about how your "world-class history" would be wiped away when all us nutjobbers knew that was the only course of action anyway?.....jeez, even the pompey legend Alan ****e knew it!!

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/stellar-duo-train-with-pompey-1-4310038 Will they ever learn?.....then again, Boa Morte wasn't brilliant when I saw him play for us over a decade ago....but it does answer who this faaackin scummmahhhh player was.
-
But he wouldn't dissappear would he? he'd be the same irritating crap stirring, Julias Streicher-wannabe that he always has been....but now with a club with money and in the top flight giving him a platform for his vile, one-sided rants.
-
What's this got to do with "love on the dole"...if they have their job seekers taken away from them, what should they do, sit on street corners begging?
-
I think this'll put the cat amongst the pigeons but you have to realise that whilst it isnt the innocent victim's fault that the US government were playing a very dangerous game arming the mujahaddin in exchange for bases in Saudi Arabia (those bases are the supposed reason for the 9/11 attacks) there are elements where US citizens are themselves culpable. Personally, I've had this discussion with American friends who point out all the people who have been murdered by the IRA or the Loyalists and I point out that the funding of the IRA is thanks in part to fund raising in the states itself. In essence, I blame the people who sit in their ivory towers (no pun intended) and give money to "freedom fighters" thinking that all they're going to do is make cups of tea with it. The sad fact was that this was coming.

You see, what I don't understand is that the PST are quibbling about a Million pound a year rent for Krap Nottarf but in the big scheme of things? isn't that quite a low figure? you need a fair bit of dosh to buy players, pay players and that's going to cost them a shedload more than how much Saint Chanrai wants to charge them in rent. Honestly, a blind fool can see that their figures just do not stack up. IF it was a club with very minimal amounts of debt, maybe mediums sized, then yes, a supporters trust buyout may be feasible but debt the scale of Pompey's the facilities they don't have, the JCL fans they don't have? the money they haven't collected yet, the loan which has more strings than a guitar shop? Really, with all this, I mean all this how can they seem so for the idea? It's ludicris, it's insane, they need money to kick off, they need money to carry on running as a football club, they need MORE money to buy players and become, As UnAppy so loves to point out, be competitive....where's it all coming from? loans? MORE debt; are they aware that you need a certain credit level before you are allowed to take out a reasonable loan? or are they going to strap their potless council with more debt which will then be passed on to everyone in the PO district whether they are a pompey fan or not? And the worst thing is, it's like the emporer's new clothes over there, not a single pompey fan that I've spoken to or sen has the cajones to say "none of this works, it's not viable, it cannot and simply will not work". ....Still WTFILN eh?

I wasn't going to post this, but this is based on a twitter conversation between Matt and a friend of mine (who's not a saints fan)....I was hoping someone wouldn't mention it. Just remember his final reply "it will never diminish my love for Southampton FC #rantover". I just think the two need their heads knocking together because as is obvious, with MLT the stadium wouldn't have bene built and he is an integral part of this club, but then so is Nicola, without him and Markus, we'd have probably not even existed as club so in essence, just sort it out you two!
-
Just heard the UnAppy interview, Reading bloody didn't walk away with the league last year.
-
I think it's going to be obvious where I've commented lol

Actually, those stats sound more like the FA cup game a couple of seasons back for us....but how they revelled in the "demolition" job they did on us....in essence, stats mean bugger all, it's the result that counts.
