UKIP candidate says Romanians are associated with crime....
Hockey_saint replied to Hockey_saint's topic in The Lounge
So it had nothing to with creating a cradle to grave welfare state that, whilst genuinely visionary, it cost and still costs a bomb.... One note to the right wingers here who bleet on about "evil commies". Name ONE, Just ONE Truely LEFT WING leader responsible for genocide and war.... -
Plus, Corrie is winding me RIGHT UP right now.....the story goes, that some character's jilted fiance claims he beat her up when in fact it was her....but his current girlfriend deleted the photos from her phone so he'll get sent down....arghhhhhhhh Arghhhhhhhhhh I assume they've never heard of Data forensics???? If those photos are or were on that phone there will in 99% of the time be a way to retrieve them; this does not make any sense and is winding me right up. I need to stop taking these soaps so seriously :s

Firstly, I have also been to New Zealand several times before also and whilst, you are correct, there are a lot of parts that don't look anything like the UK, there are also many parts where you cannot tell the difference and what's that down to? British people setting up home and turning it into a "little Britain" (Although I see those parts a bit more like Wales). I also agree with you that it's not been very nice to say the least for the Maori and I don't condone the things we did to remove them of their land but don't make the mistake of thinking that I'd thrown this example in without at least have previously being there. Finally yes, there are loads of right wing parties in Europe and Eastern europe but why can't we be better than that? show them the way as it were? -

Because you can contextualise ANYTHING in this world into a military analogy (plus it's the only way often that ignorant little Englanders understand) and yes, we can moan about the Poles, the Irish, the Romanians coming here over running their system but we've pretty much been doing the same for about 300 years around the globe....I'm off to NZ in sept which oddly looks a lot like here.....can't think why? Also, maybe some Spanish feel their cultural identity is being destroyed by so many foreigners where they live just like us. I don't agree that it's a bad thing, I think a cultural infusion is a good thing but maybe they dont such is life. -
Francis Benali....I've not seen many a worse player play for Saints than him, but hey, he's a Southampton born-n-bred boy and bestest mates with Le Tissier! Ohhhhh I'm gonna get some stick for that choice ...did I mention he's alledgedly suing the club?

I can promise you it is not just retirees and the Spanish are getting fairly over-run. Ultimately what does it come down to in the end? us going back to being seperate battling countries in Europe and again killing millions? This union is saving lives and attempting to bring us all together, it's here, like it or not and the thing about borders? they're like the Maginout line, they never work. -

No, what I'm saying is that they have the option to more to another EU state should they wish to as there are other states with jobs going...just like other EU nationals are doing. Also, it's actually not JUST pensioners over in Spain, it is in fact LOTS of UK citizens in a similar way to the Eastern europeaners here (except outwardly they are initially fiscally bringing capital into the country.). And finally, as regular SFC readers of the Echo, I know we shouldn't expect anything better from the Echo, but to use cheap tactics like the Daily Mail is a bit low even for them. -

Firstly, Hypochondriac...When you write an article with the title: "UKIP candidate says Romanians are associated with crime" THAT is where the reference is and as it's been said before, it's a cheap trick. Maybe my "if they don't like it, move to another EU State" sounds a bit reverse racialist BUT they CAN...that's the point of a free roaming federalist union! It's been muttered and mentioned for at least a couple of hundred years and you can call me a liberal or even a communist all you like, the ONLY way we can ensure another European civil war and millions of lives are not lost again is to come together and work closer and if that costs a few jobs.....well, so be it, we'll be better off in the long run. And as Spain was mentioned, what about the over one million pensioners living in Spain? they seem to like the idea of a free roaming union. -

yeah, thanks for that....I take it all our experiences are generally a bit different and it's one flippin big can of worms. -

My point was that it peobably got a lot worse after that as well, what with Thatcher destroying the mining industry and well as most other nationalised industries and that it has probably never gone away so it's not a "Now" issue at all. -

Allow them to move about the union into parts with high employment. Simple. -

Exactly how many people were unemployed before the Tories got in in 1979.....enough for Saatchi & Saatchi's famous "Labour isn't working" slogan. -

See, it does work both ways. It's the only way ahead I'm afraid, we cant keep digging our head in the sand with this little islander mentality I'm afraid. -

I'm not retired no. I believe that yes, the infrastructure needs to be improved but with more people comes more jobs and more need for jobs. Also, the good thing about a continental federal union is that if we don't like it here we can move about as we wish and on this front yes, I this parity needs to be aimed towards. Also, "there are no jobs" is an excuse which I think is a very easy thing to say. -
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10222551.Romanians__associated_with_crime__says_UKIP_candidate/ As I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that went on our most recent UEFA tour of Romania, I find it frankly disgusting because if you did, you know that it's such a blanket statement and that a lot of the crime is commited by Roma (Gypsy) street gangs and not the majority of Romanians themselves. But then, I'd expect this from the rejected right of the Conservatives. I'm all for migration myself; it's a good thing but we do need to make sure there is parity throughout the union in working wage.

The population posts above? I assume you all noted Hampshire's traditional and more formal name right? Southamptonshire? so therefor ALL the population belongs to Southampton.

So are we now officially OVER Nigel Adkins
Hockey_saint replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
Do I need to point out to anyone here a chairman who sacked a manager and spent months with what was basically a caretaker manager and what happened?......shoddy method?...think back people, what would you prefer?.....but I agree, it's Waaaay to early to judge. -
Cortese and Le Tissier arrange meeting
Hockey_saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
ARRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH This is doing my nut in!!! On the one hand I think "Le Tissier is my childhood hero and saved it countless times and whoever disrespects him has no part of the club" BUT then I think "Le Tiss, for goodness sake!!! stop blabbering on Twitter and to the press, it does you no favours, it did you no favours for England and it'll certainly do you no favours with Cortese!!" I mean, the statement the club brought out made it quite clear, the Benali case is a legal matter (although redecorating a rented house is a bit silly) and Le Tissier has no place mentioning it, however indirectly. ALSO, Our club is over 125 years old, it's been around a lot longer than le Tiss, McMenemy or Cortese...and, for example, it was Ted Bates, a lifelong saint, and THE Mr Southampton who took this club from nowhere to the top flight and Europe NOT Lawrie, it was Lawrie who was given soooo sooo much faith by the old man and relegated us the next year....Also, who's the world cup winner and highest capped player again? oh yes, our newly appointed president. What I'm saying is and I think most will agree, is that our club is bigger than this, it's older than this and the legends that came before MLT, Benali and Lawrie don't generally ask to be on the payroll. -
I used to maybe think a bit like Mrs' Pap there (I still think you can judge the poverty of a neighbourhood by the number of pubs, bookies and pawnbrokers there are) BUT; Firstly, you have to realise, no one invaded anyone. They were invited here and by in large, they are generally very hard working. We also have the option to move to Poland or any other EU state and use their facilities such as healthcare systems if we wish. Thomas Jefferson (the irritating francophile that he was) suggested a united states of europe hundreds of years ago and it is a good idea, we just need to embrase it...we have overcrowding? then move to a part of europe that hasn't got it...but what we really need to do is work on a pay harmonisation throughout the union. Also, I live in Shirley and frankly, it's been a tip for quite some time.

Southampton FC V Portsmouth FC football rivalry.
Hockey_saint replied to Harvey91's topic in The Lounge
You also appear to be the same Harvey that regularly attempts....and mostly fails....to wind-up the morons over on the POL am I right? -
In that case, you should live in Shirley. There are tonnes of them there.

Nah, we need someone to face down Cortese in the car park at St. Mary's and ask him "if mooosh ur gunna tell us some trooooffs?"....and then throw their season ticket at him.
