Probably won't even bother listening to that one!

Thank you, Saint Clark. That is good Moderator behaviour. You are improving the forum.

Dave points out that the amount of time left in a match is inversely proportional to the likely number of further goals to be scored in it.
-
Have they put their ressies out?
-
Yeah, exactly, so why are Davis, Harding, Seaborne, Hammond, Lallana and Barnard playing?
-
Not sure I understand that thinking either. IMO you either put out your best team or you put out a second string team, with one or two first teamers who would benefit from further match time. I wish we had done that latter thing: second string team including Richardson and Chaplow, who haven't played a lot recently.
-
Apart from when he gave Hammond a decent partner at Notts County enabling us to take a real hold of the game and win comfortably.
-
I wish we'd played a much weaker team today.
-
What they'll be wanting now, Laurence, is not to be quelled.
-
You're talking rubbish mate, complete rubbish. If you don't like that phrase then fine, replace it with, "don't want to go for a multiplicity of reasons" but the point stands. It is perfectly consistent to be a loyal fan and to decide not to attend certain matches. If you can't bear to miss a match that badly there's probably something wrong with you.
-
No, not dodgy games at all. I think Adkins just felt that D&R at home was a good opportunity to give Chamberlain a run out from the off. If I was Adkins I would let Chambo play against Shrewsbury too but bring Puncheon back in for Carlisle away.
-
Some of those are perfectly descriptive and clear metaphors and aphorisms and people who complain about them vociferously are probably insufferable bores. By contrast, some of them are ubertarded.
-
Yes finn-ance. As in financier. I'm going for some respit from this nunsince.
-
Yes you can. I will continue to go to some matches whatever division we're in, whatever numpties run out on to the pitch and despite the comings and goings of ejits in the directors' box. I am a loyal fan. Can't be arsed to go on Sat though.

I haven't noticed a prevalence of the Yank variation amongst my peer group but then we are all (well, mostly) well educated.

£25 is relatively expensive for a Championship game FFS. It is ridiculous for a match no one cares about against League Two opposition. Yes, it might have been petty to make our public statement but WTF were Shrewsbury doing trying to justify ticket prices at the maximum possible level? What a complete waste of the FA's time and of our time, as well as their own. Forget whether they need the money or not - £25 to watch a third division team play a fourth division team is a ridiculous proposition.
-
Exactly. I would be surprised if the team below was not capable of beating Shrewsbury at home, if it performs properly: ------------------------Bart--------------------- Richardson--------Jaidi---Martin (is he fit?)-----Dickson Chamberlain-----Wotton-----Schneiderlin-------Holmes ---------------------Guly------------------------ ---------------Bignall / Doble----------------------
-
There is never an excuse for this nonsensical abomination. Shame on you for even suggesting it has a whiff of legitimacy.
-
Great news. Well done Saints, and well done Chappers - keep up the good work.
-
You might be right but I would still pick a team without Lallana, Fonte, Davis, Harding, Hammond, Chaplow, Lambert and Barnard for this one. It is completely pointless. We have no hope of winning the FA Cup and no need for further ticket money from getting a "glamour" draw. I would like us to win the game as winning is fun and the cup is fun but this is a valuable opportunity to give some players a run-out against a decentish team.
-
Says the "Radial Snake" champion. If "Radial Snake" actually means "big rotating penis, like really big " then I withdraw my snipe.
-
**** me, that's glamorous.
-
This is the key point IMO - most of the ranters are too immature to understand.
