7 Marines arrested - Dammed if you do Killed if you dont
Viking Warrior replied to Viking Warrior's topic in The Lounge
Mickn its not about being hard and if you knew me then you would have a different view. I was in the RAMC and have seen both sides of conflict. yes some guys step out of line but you want to experience some of the provacation these guys have to tolerate. I remember in one of my tours in NI . I took an injured member of the IRA to musgrave park for treatment. Went for a coffee and sarnie in the resturant area only to be spat at and sworn at by some catholic nurses in the resturant area. yet we are all medics. -

And then there is the Case of Sgt Mark Leader. And it was there that his 18-year career, during which he reached the rank of sergeant, would come to an ignominious end, after a moment’s misjudgment. A hitherto exemplary and unblemished record counted for nothing, it seemed, when set against a regrettable but relatively minor assault on an Afghan prisoner. Sgt Leader, 34, along with 45 Commando colleague Captain Jody Wheelhouse, was thrown out of the Royal Marines for hitting a suspected Taliban bomber with a wellington boot. Mohammed Ekhlas had earlier been detained by Marines who spotted four men ‘digging in’ a roadside bomb near a British base in Helmand province. Yet again the lilly livered Liberals got their way. -

I see if they are found guilty of what happened they will not be tried in a british court , which means they will face trial in the country the offence took place in. "As the alleged incident took place outside the country, it is understood the Royal Marines accused will not be subject to UK courts." I could mention Danny Fitzsimmons ex para who was hired by G4S to work in Iraq. he should never have been hired,. he killed two collegues but now rots in an iraqi jail. He should serve his sentence in a UK Prison not in Iraq. G4S and the government have let this guy down . , Sounds like the samemay happen to to Royal Marines -

Not sure what is going on about the 7 marines in Helmand provence http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19918398 I know there are laws about when you can shoot an insurgent but at the end of the day if the insurgent/taliban is about to kill you or civilians I would know what action I would take. Im not sure why this story has been released to the press. It should have been kept confidential until the in vestigation is completed. Now the more radical muslim groups and the taliban will go on the offensive against nato and british troops . -
Interesting and scary stuff . Interesting to see the engines still running and how easy the nose cone gave way . Anyone else watching

Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Viking Warrior replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
What stupid thread . I can only surmise that those that suggest al should be dropped must be wum's . If he got dropped then we will have yet more threads about sacking NA . I would hate to think what this forum would be like if mlt was only 26 today and the comments would no doubt be ultra negative . Give it a rest guys and get behind the team -
Hypo I can not be sure about England , but it is the case in Scotland. On a couple of recruitment check it is shown that the 16 years olds were on the sex register. because their girlfriend was a little under 15. crazy I know but it is true. Had to ask one poor lad as to why he was on the register.

Thanks top gun. So there needs to be consistency in sentencing, look at this case which I found extremel offensive. He should have gone to jail A man who posted an offensive Facebook message following the deaths of six British soldiers has been given a community order. Azhar Ahmed, 20, of Fir Avenue, Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire, was found guilty in September of sending a grossly offensive communication. He said he did not think the message, which said "all soldiers should die and go to hell", was offensive. Ahmed was also fined £300 at Huddersfield Magistrates' Court. He will have to do 240 hours of community service over a two-year period. badgers. If they fine somebody everytime a negative comment was made on a social media site then it can go into the coffers of the courts local authorities etc. How much will ashley cole get fined for his twitter comment re the FA FOBOC's

As someone one has already said . Why didnt any of the reponsible law abiding people come forward at the time such as nurse etc? Its not as if it would damage their radio 1 careers. We certainly are getting a trial by media re saville. Can you remember what happened 40 /50 years ago and the exact dates and places.

EGG in response to your early quesion , the 16 year old is in terms of the law. the 16 year old is placed on the sex register. this happens a lot. Seeing CRB reports and disclosures, Poor Lad .

If this was the alleged scene in the 70's and 80's , is it not possible that young girls were taken advantage of by footballers stars of the day as well and actors etc
-
Egg the point I am making is the Met should keep their comments confidential until the investigation is completed . and not feulling the witch hunt brigade
-
Are social media crimes the big money spinner to fill the coffers of local authorities. police funds and the government following on from the millions taken in from speed camera's etc? Only posing the question
-
I agree a prison sentence is a bit harsh, but if the guy who put what ever it was about April goes to prison then how comes the muslim guy who used social media to preach hatred and death against british soldiiers gets community service. There has to be a consistent approach . But I will wait till judgment is passed in the April Jones comment .
-
Egg whether it was wide spread or not , There is a judicial process to be followed. The Met police should have maintained their silence until the investigation was complete. Not blab to the press. like they did in the Dave Jones case and know doubt about many other cases. Have they not learnt a lesson from the potential outcomes of the leverson enquiry. Oh let me think Is it not true to say the MET are seriously implicated in the hacking scandal.
-
Totaly agree with your Commments Alpine for a change. well said He hasnt been found guilty of anything by trial, and has no recourse for defence. Until the end of whatever investigations are now planned he had a right under the norms of justice to rest in peace. I also find it concerning that incidents of alleged abuse dating back many decades are now coming out like a floodgate has been opened; if a few people had spoken up at the time of their alleged abuse, many many others might have been spared from it.
-
Hatch he may well be guilty . but let the justice process take its course. Like the allegations about Dave Jones. so many people junped on the band wagon and dont forget the police leaked his arrest to the media before he was arrested at his dads funeral. Those allegations all but ruined a good man. I still belive in innocent till poven guilty. The man is dead and can not defend himself. I watched the freddie starr inverview again he is being convicted with out a full investigation he doeshe not have a right to innocence as well.? The police should say nothing until such times as and if and when this matter comes to court
-
Seems to me the met police are fishing for information and influencing the judges etc already . What happened to the fundamental rules of innocent until proven guilty ! How can a senior detective speak to the media and say savile is a predatory sex offender etc . Let justice take its course . At least the welsh police are saying nothing in terms of the April jones case so they do not compromise the case and ensure bridgers rights . Would the Met being going public because it is a celeb who is dead also what about the rights of those other celebs who are allegedly implicated . I have no respect for the met police . Innocent till proven guilty . Just do your investigation with discretion and integrity .

Did we spend our transfer money wisely? We're they Adkins choices?

Yet another boring negative thread . Yawn . We have more expert professional football managers on this forum than there are in the premiership . Look at man city and Chelsea they never have a settled side . The guys we purchased at close of the window will need to settle alo these constant international breaks are not helping the process apart from recovery from injuries . Keep the faith -
Another tedious thread yawn

I hear he has two broken legs a broken big toe following a 12lb steak falling on his foot . He is also suffering from a massive migraine due to the uber alles negative depressives on this forum other than that he's okay

nrhsaint Stop being a negative wet fanny and get behind the club and manager. Nigel will get it right. We are a club going forward and yes we will have blibs while we adjust to the premier> Moaning all the time is not helpful . All it does is breed further unrest and negativity
