Man who attacked robber is freed on appeal
Son of Bob replied to INFLUENCED.COM's topic in The Lounge
If someone tied up and threatened my wife and little girl they'd need to think themselves lucky if they got away with just the minor brain damage, whether they were running away or not. I've seen first hand the mental anguish and long term effects on people who are violated in the supposed safety of their own home and the scum who do this deserve to suffer the consequences of their mindless, life ruining actions. -
That's the whole bloody point though. They HAVE got the fanbase. They have averaged over 10,000 this season (At least 9,000 of which will be home fans) and have even managed over 16,000 for one league game so the it obviously is there. Just a shame none of them turned up to watch their team last night. Under 4,000 is pathetic and ruined what could have been a real party atmosphere and a special occasion. Instead it was an average game of football, played in front of an empty stadium with the atmosphere of a funeral. End of... For the record Sour, I had a great day out drinking with my mates as well. I was just a shame there wasn't a decent home crowd there to banter with. Why do you think our singing dried up as the game went on?

Oh, come on. 3,500 fans.... at home.... for what is effectively a semi-final game with a spot at Wembley at stake. It's a disgrace. They have averaged over 10,000 this season and managed 16,000 for a league game so there's no excuse and yes, it did vastly reduce the enjoyment factor. The last semi I attended would not have been quite the same if the stands of Villa park were virtually empty would it? If I just wanted to 'watch' the game I'd have stayed at home and put Sky on. It was a cup semi-final and their fans produced all the atmosphere of an autopsy. If atmosphere is not an important factor for you when attending matches (especially away games) then we have very different expectations of the live game. If you go to matches just to observe the players activities on the pitch then I'm afraid to say you're really missing out on something.

Sorry I'm not quite sure what your point is here as you haven't used the quote system properly? What are you trying to say? Are you saying the night wasn't ruined by the MK stay-aways? If you are how can you say that the pathetic turn out by their fans had no detrimental effect on the atmosphere. Their stands were 80% empty FFS!
-
I suppose you think it's OK for them to start on their fellow fans as well?
-
To top it off we had trouble with everyones favourite Saints fans 'the Yoof' after the game. They started on one of my mates because he apparently 'stared at them'. Nice. What the **** is the world coming to when you can't go to a game without fear of your own fans starting on you?
-
Man U shouldn't even be in existence so who gives a **** what they think? £3/4 billion in debt? I wonder if they'll go into admin?
-
I've never been so disgusted with a clubs supporters. We thought they had made a mistake and told their fans the wrong kick off time. They don't deserve to have a nice stadium like that. We did well and sung loudly most of the night but it's hard to get a decent atmosphere going when only the away support is singing. Such a shame. Could have been a great night but it was ruined by their plastic stay-aways.

I am from Romsey and lived there for 23 years. It's OK, it has it's moments (so to speak). Used to have the highest concentration of pubs in the country (due to the Whitbread brewery being based in the town centre) hence the well known expression 'so drunk he must have been to Romsey' which was nationally prevelant in days of old. The Beggars Fayre is quality and should be in everyones annual diary.

Does it come with a controller?

What's your budget? Joe is right. I would go for a hard-tail everytime unless you're going hardcore. You'll get a far lighter, better specced bike for the same money. In the long term will reduce fatigue on long rides, not only from the lighter weight, but from the lack of po-going as well. I switched from a Gary Fisher Joshua F2 (F/S) to a Marin Eldridge Grade (H/T) in 2007 and it was a great move. The Marin is a far better trail bike. If you're spending mega bucks that's a different kettle of fish mind you! The real top end F/S trail bikes are awesome but at my £1000 budget the hard tail offered the best choice.

The cars could be sponsored by ACME!

I reckon the FIA should introduce power ups in the style of Mario Kart. Imagine Alonso overtaking Hamilton only for Hamilton to shoot him with something that made his car go ultra slow, or spin off the track.

'I shot the sheriff, but I didnt shoot Otsemobor'' would fit better.

We've all got a semi, we've all got a semi, lal la la la, la la la la.
