  1. Was always able to flip to mum or dads side.. Scotland England matches were a dilemma but generally Scotland hadn't qualified so the question didn't arise. Watching the "one night in turin" match live in a shitty expat pub in California wasn't a choice.. I was down there with the english crazies. Last friday was a blue night though..
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57551368 Guessing both saints will start then against croatia
  3. Armtrong starts.. Adams on bench..
  4. Suspect an effective scouting network between glasgow and the solent at the club level.. (and apologies for any missing) Davis, Wanyama, Forster, Van Dijk, Armstrong, Telfer. And for old people like me, Jim Steele (who was operating an effective offside trap on my very first trip to the Dell, thus the name), Eric Martin and Jimmy Gabriel. And let's not forget Gordon Strachan.... and then there's all those Sparky/Jones/Bale welsh folks... You can wear your saints shirt (with the correct local hero name of course ) in pubs during international competitions anywhere in the UK nations (apart from Portsmouth of course), and probably not get beaten up. I'm off to the fan zone in Glasgow on my free bus pass with my Stuart Armstrong saints strip on to find out....
  5. clearly an english dilemma .. the 2006 Christiano Ronaldo "wink" springs to mind.
  6. it's a close run thing between pelle hair and armstrong hair for sure...
  7. Adams got man of the match against a 10 man luxembourg. A dubious honour in the circumstances and he missed a couple later. His partnership with Dykes is developing nicely (Dykes gives you charlie adams flashbacks) and I reckon will get Che a starting place. Plus he's scoring .. although covid put paid to having both Saints on the pitch together as the isolating players needed a day in the sun and the Lux game was just a training ground excercise after the sending off. More ardent Armstrong watchers will say if he fits better in a 3 man or 5 man midfield.
  8. To quote Steve Clarke.. "Agent Armstrong" should get on with some recruiting. Maybe a loan ? Gilmour clearly doesnt get enough game time right now.
  9. As the owner of one more grandparent than Che for me its always been a 50/50 choice. As the thread says.. Saints at euros... which until there is one in the England squad is what it should be. Recently relocated to Scotland from Hampshire and I'm fully into how Armstong and Adams get on. Following Scotland is kind of like being Saints but on the international stage. Underdog, a bit of siege mentality, an obvious bogey opponent and the ability to accept the inevitable.. every game is a bonus. Even BBC Scotland shows England matches live and the Scotland matches are radio-live only (just like solent if you aren't a multi subscription owner). It's the perfect oppression led national bonding process. One thing I'm not getting is how the pundits and papers up here are so into Armstrong, who put in a great shift on the Netherlands game but Steve Clarke just doesn't play him enough. Adams needs to learn the words to the Anthem. Tierney and Gilmour are class acts.
  10. I'd need a new forum name
  11. Dennis Wise.. someone hard please.
  12. on what they think in north london.. I heard him referred to as AVB-lite
  13. best conditions for years = more carnage than relegation There must be a sweet spot around 15th where you stay off the radar and can just carry on quietly..
