What a shame. On the verge of going to the Brazil World Cup with England to being pretty much career over with one funny landing vs Man City. He's not been anywhere close to what he was. We all wanted it and wanted to believe it when he showed us glimpses. Hope he can get a run at WBA but I expect him to be a regular in their treatment room rather than the team.

This whole thing is extraordinary. From the very get go I have never witnessed such media clamouring for him to make a big money move to a "big club". Every Saints game I watched on the TV this season, whether he was playing or not would be full of the commentator going on an on about him on the "verge of a big move", "has turned the head of the big boys", "no question he will be playing for a big team next year" "big question marks over his future". Disgraceful really.

Wasn't having a dig at those that go to the games, just the ones on here that don't go (like me) but do nothing but moan at everything the team/club does (unlike me).
