  1. We don't need any more strikers because we are amongst the highest scoring teams in our division. We are in the middle packet when it comes to conceding goals. So what exactly is the priority?? Yep defenders, so that when the strikers we do have score 2 goals in a game we don't lose 3-2 or draw 2-2. Fortunately the club is being run by sensible men who aren't just striker crazy.
  2. Bart is the way forward though.Reinstating KD immediately would be retrograde step.
  3. He told me so,;);)
  4. That won't suit everybody. They all want to play and score goals. Lallana has just 3 goals less than Beckford,we don't need any more strikers cos we'd have no room for them in the side. Fortunately AP knows that and won't be doing anything silly.
  5. Because we have Connolly who's got a few goals in not a lot of games. What we don't want to do is make our squad top heavy, not that it already isn't. A CD and a RB are really all we need.
  6. But not so many as the bloke we already have.
  7. Unnecessary as well. Whatever we want him for just eludes me completely. We have 2 strikers who score goals, plus a couple of midfielders who are scoring as well.
  8. Still Saints and Colts will probably both finish 18 and 1 this season. I'm counting on the Saints to beat those bastards in the Super Bowl. Just how many get out of jail cards can the Colts get from the officials in one season.
  9. Ooh I don't know, wait for some player or other to get done for some minor offence or other and watch the "fans" unfurl on him.Remember Beats and his DD or BWP and Dyer
  10. Amazing how quickly they've turned on a player who's scored about a Third of their league goals. They don't score all that many anyway and without Beckford they'd probably be mid table. Leeds force is their defence, about 10 goals conceded in the League this season,Take away the bloke who makes the 1-0s happen and you're nothing.Still Leeds fans always have had a crap mentality.
  11. two games before that though.
  12. Shifting Saganowski,Paterson and Lancashire could never ever be heralded as a rash decision. They were bad last season, they're nowhere in sight this season, how can that be rash?? Anyway we digress, my whole point in this discussion was that we should reflect very seriously on fielding a weakened team for the FA Cup against Luton because I personally believe that reaching the play-offs might not happen. Not because we didn't get anything today, but because our situation vis a vis the play-offs demanded that we get at least a point today.
  13. Yep but starting withLancashire and Saganowski for the first few games lead to that bad start. WE, the mighty Southampton, should never have capitulated at Swindon but we went there with a team containing abject failures like Saganowski and Lancashire and got humiliated, that's why we're still somewhere between 9 and 15 points behind them halfway through the season. That sort of crap needed weeding out of the squad the very day that AP walked through the door; It wasn't and that's why we are where we are now.
  14. But in the context of the situation we needed something from today, that's where we are. Failure or no we got nothing, other teams got something, that's where we are at now. We needed to go there and get a 0-0 draw.
  15. We shouldn't be, that's just what the bad start means,we'll be struggling to finish above Swindon and Millwall.I don't know Swindon's fixture list but it could well be that they finish the half-season with 10 or more actual points than us. We've got much better as time has gone on but there are still some results that shouldn't happen--well happening. As a result we needed to go to Leeds today and get something.I thought starting Waigo was a bad move, he had no place in today's game, looking at Arizona's "scores on the doors" just goes to confirm that.We should have started with Wotton or even Trotman in front of the back 4 because Waigo was sure to be a fart in a thunderstorm today.
  16. You are ignoring the fact that Swindon have 2 games in hand. We have lost ground today. Not on the same teams but lost ground all the same. We've lost ground on Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Norwich and probably Colchester
  17. Some sort of Ducati ??
  18. I hope you're right,I think we'll fail by 2 or 3 points and that will just bring home the effect of the capitulation against Bristol Rovers or the disaster against Brighton. We will pay for those performances. Sad but then that's football.
  19. Our midfield has no imagination without Morgan, they are industrious and adequate but without his vision that's about it.
  20. You can stick in all the question marks you want. Facts are facts, we only have the same number of total points as the 6th and last play-off place (cos Swindon will get at least 1 from 2 games) We need at least 10 more than all the others from 24 games and that is a tall order.
  21. Colchester away 28th December, Huddersfield home 9th January Difference = 12 days
  22. Because we are no nearer the play-offs after 22 games than we were at the start. We just aren't making up any ground.
  23. doubt that, the play-offs are really a remote shot now.We could be 10 points behind the lead pack if Swindon get anything at all from 2 games. Then there's a big pack just behind who are all just a couple of points away. They won't all go into free-fall.
  24. A great performance but at the end of the day they scored and we didn't. 0-0 was our best hope. We didn't shut the game down early enough.Taking Beckford off was desperation on their part, we needed to get Trotman and Wotton on seconds after that and just shut up shop with 5 or 6 at the back.
  25. Except that Swindon now have 2 games in hand. Could be as much as 10 minimum. I really don't think we'll make the play-offs. Not without at least 2 significant signings on the defensive front.
