  1. I guess he's one of the players who can't handle 2 matches in 3 days that AP was talking about
  2. No Jaidi though, that's taking a big risk with Trotman and Perry at the back and James at RB again.Bet we don't keep a clean sheet, 5-1 then
  3. About 21st January 2006;I still maintain that if Rupert had called Burley into his office the following Monday morning and sacked him (although he'd only been there a few weeks) we would not be where we are now.
  4. Did we pay anything at all for any of those players?. The three of them put together probably don't cost us as much as Razsiak.
  5. Did not someone say that there were " a lot" of cases like that? It might also be designed to sell a lot of spanking new shirts and other gear to be proudly worn on Boxing Day. You lose a few bob on a ticket but make packet on replica kit.
  6. But the idea of that sort of lost leader is that you create new demand. If everybody just pays £10 and doesn't take a child with them it doesn't create any new fans. It would serve the smart arses right if the gate-men won't let people with that type of ticket in unless they have the requisite child with them.
  7. I bet Mellis wonders why he is here though.Probably wishes he was in Chelsea's reserves getting the odd run out in the Carling Cup.
  8. Doubt it, the kid is a natural. They may have changed his mental attitude but I doubt if any one of them has anything to teach him on a technical basis.Positional sense and playing for the team yes, basic skills-no. His mental might not have been quite right and who could question that, coming to the UK at 18,turning down Pompey and then finding yourself in a club run by a bunch of tightfisted, pennyless jackasses.
  9. true but that's not what was said in the original post. A lot of blokes wouldn't want to be bothered with a child on Boxing Day. Stops them beering it up at the pub and all that.
  10. A couple of players wanting away could change that very quickly. I'm confident that the management will handle it all very well, but there's no doubting that there will be offers for Lallana and Morgan this January. They probably won't move on though but if they should we'd need good class replacements pretty quickly. We saw on Saturday what becomes of us without Morgan, even AP said so,Lallana would be the same,Neither is irreplaceable but it would need careful thought to get it right straight away.
  11. And have a lot of kids sat next to people that aren't accompanying them? Don't know how the club might react if some kid or other got lost because he's on a free ticket with a stranger.
  12. On loan until the end of the season apparently, been out on loan quite a bit, never very far south though.
  13. Players wanting to be here counts for very little when big(gish) money is involved. Everybody wants to be where they are until something better comes along. Few resist the call of a league or two above, a couple of thou' a week more and a signing on fee.If you look at all the Saint's ex-players who "wanted to stay" and then up sticks as soon as a couple of bob was thrown at them, you'll see that there are very few exceptions. The "look at where he is now" argument has very little effect on a player considering moving to a higher standard of football. For every Chris Baird there's a Theo Walcott or a Kenwyne Jones.
  14. What's so great about this Jackson bloke then doesn't seem to score many goals for a sh*t hot striker. A fair few of his goals have come from the penalty spot.Connolly and Lallana have scored more goals from open play than he has.
  15. Yesterday morning we had 10 inches of snow here, today not a flake is left, the temperatures have rocketed and it's all gone.
  16. I thought the Echo was banned from St Mary's anyway. Doubt if it's just Lambert that they're looking at.We have players on loan from other clubs that the parent clubs might be wanting to sell, so where do scouts see them? yep where they're playing. Scouts will probably be looking at Lambert, Lallana and Morgan just now. All three will be considered by some scouting staff to be playing below their level.
  17. I shall be working, I'm one of those "indispensable" sort of people who's rota includes high days and holidays.I like Christmas but it's different here, I've never really adapted to the 6 hour midnight blowout that they call "Reveillon" nor the utter crap that gets put on TV on Christmas Day because everyone is sleeping off all the excess food from the day before. If I could return to England for Christmas it would be different though.Unfortunately duty calls. Nothing exciting happens in France at Christmas, no sport, no nothing, just a lot of food and awful relatives.
  18. All that Huddersfield showed was not to make crazy double substitutions a minute after you've equalised.Pardew lost us that game by sheer stupidity. He has now learnt his lesson.
  19. Christmas is for kids, what else has it to recommend itself? ¨Pub closed in the evening, you have to put up with the ma in law all day and you get crap presents (if you get any at all) other than that it's an overblown commercial hype, Boxing day is about football
  20. In fact if he's nothing better to do on Boxing Day he might as well turn up at SMS with his boots.I'm sure he could still put Wotton,James and Hammond to shame.
  21. I can't see us spending much money at all.I certainly don't think we'll be paying 2 million for anybody "An Australian psychology expert who has been studying emotions has found being grumpy makes us think more clearly. In contrast to those annoying happy types, miserable people are better at decision-making and less gullible, his experiments showed. While cheerfulness fosters creativity, gloominess breeds attentiveness and careful thinking. "
  22. And for how much longer is Antonio on loan with us ? Simple question with no hidden innuendo.
  23. Mappy says you can do it in 1hr 49 minutes. I would have though that 4.5 miles could be covered in about 1hr 15 myself. Sends you down Denzil Avenue as well, perhaps you might get a christmas freebee from some tasty tart or other. So make that 3hrs 15 then.
  24. Depends, grammatically there's nothing wrong with his statement except that he is excluding himself from the group of friends. So grammatically it passes but socially it doesn't.
  25. He's probably asking for far too much money. If he's not playing then there's a reason for it.
