  1. Puncheon fell out with Crosby and therein lies the answer.I think Crosby has a pretty big say on team affairs, not the final word perhaps but he's certainly listened to.The answer might lie in an incident in a Play-Off match between S****horpe and MK Dons back in 2009, not sure that Punch didn't injure Crosby in a foul tackle.
  2. Wouldn't think Morgan would be back for the Posh game,at least not as a starter.Probably still got the stitches in.Boro at the earliest probably.
  3. 31 points from 16 games is good, really good. It's the 4 from the last 4 that's snookered us a bit. I just hope we will not bitterly regret the inability to finish off the Skates because even if they go out of existence the day after the season ends that rabble will hold that over us for ever, much like their title wins in the 50s.
  4. Need to head off to the Catskills for that to happen.
  5. We will need at least 6 players for the PL. Keeper,1CB,2FB,1RM,1 striker and that's the bare minimum,we're probably looking at 10 to 12 players.
  6. might be handy if we could do it before they score against us It's what Everton used to do when they had millions of £ of pools money behind them and other teams had to make do with the proceeds of a whip rounds at the Working Men's Club.Used to buy up players just to keep them off the market, only played with 11 or 12 in those days, the rest just hung about.
  7. really don't think we can count on Brighton this afternoon. I shall watch it though ever hopeful but I don't think their defence will be good enough to stop West Ham. Best we can hope for is a couple of red cards.
  8. how exactly do you work that out? If we get 6 points we will be on the maximum number of points which West Ham can achieve this season by winning all of their games. They would then need to boost their GD by + 9 to equal ours.Given that we'd need to at least +2 to win 2 games to get those 6 points that leaves them needing at least +11 from their 4 remaining games. If they win them all 3-0 that boosts them by +12 but we'd just need to score a couple more against Coventry. We need 6 points from 2 wins to take us up, Coventry and Peterborough and that will be enough.
  9. You're wrong about Chaplow, he has never played instead of Cork, only instead of either Guly or Adam. Chaplow is not a central MF and hasn't started there for us this season. Those posts have been occupied in the main by Morgan,Cork and Hammond. I think you may well find that Chappers was at his best when he was replacing Adam.
  10. Couldn't really understand why exactly we needed Martin,Harding and Richardson on the bench. Looks like it's been decreed that Falqué and Puncheon don't get into the 16.
  11. what? are you saying it wasn't deflected?
  12. the deflection should get the assist for the goal, Federici looked to have it covered if Harte (I think) hadn't got a touch on it and made it go to ground and rear up.Good shot though.
  13. the second goal wasn't so much a case of poor defending as losing the ball in a very compromising position,we were in "forward" mode and Hammond just gave them the ball, after that we had to back pedal in what was virtually a no hope position because we were outnumbered, one of the advantages of TV, you can analyse and count heads.
  14. I do not see us blowing it a Posh no.Defences like Reading's are few and far between in the NPC, and that includes ours. Got to play Guly,De Ridder or why not Punch in RM though cos Fergie junior will wind Chaplow up and he'll get sent off.
  15. Palace were an incredibly poor side with nothing to play for, I could have looked good against them. Sharp still has to show me that he's worth what we paid and that the choice by whoever it was is a good one. If Tad was fit Sharp would be on the bench and Barnard would be playing Southern League football or something. The injuries to Tad and Morgan may well cost us,already I feel that the title has gone, never mind, but we have to do it on Tuesday because we may not at Boro, unless Morgan is back, missed him desperately last night, the composure that calms everything down, buys time and cuts out the need for speculative diagonal balls down Gorkss,Pearce and Federici's collective throat.
  16. On what do you base that statement? he cannot control the ball correctly in one movement, it slows everything down, he cannot tackle correctly thus putting himself under pressure just a few minutes into the game. If you had the advantage of the close ups of the TV you'd see what i mean, every time a ball came in he seemed to be sort of holding back instead of going for it positively, it's what happens when you've already got a card and your direct opponent has a bit of pace and a bit of guile.
  17. Sharp seemed obsessed with obtaining a penalty, couldn't understand that myself and the commentators couldn't either. Kept saying that Sharp needed to stay on his feet.
  18. Thought a real keeper might have come out on the cross for their first goal actually. Just a thought that crossed my mind at the time though.
  19. But as there was no end product it just doesn't matter.Seemed to me to be our problem again last night, no end product from a lot of chances and Reading were extremely efficient whenever they got a sniff.
  20. was looking for the ball in the centre circle a lot of the time, not much supply you see, we seemed to be obstinately giving it to Butterfield to pump speculative balls into the box or De Ridder to dribble it up his own backside.
  21. You are spot on, Hammond gave the ball away in the centre simply because he's not good enough to play against sides like Reading and the rest is history.I keep saying that Hammond isn't good enough for a top NPC side and mugs defend him.Never want to see the bloke in a Saints shirt again but no doubt we will, same goes for Chaplow running around doesn't cut it at this level if you can't control the ball. Why we signed Falqué and gave Puncheon a reprieve just beats me,at least one of them should have been on the bench last night to produce something a bit different if necessary. On to Peterborough, first of the last chance saloons.
  22. That's it then title blown,promotion ????????
  23. Just about sums up the 47 minutes that I've just watched.
