We have 5 very ordinary strikers on our hands. Onuachu, Archer, Armstrong, Brereton- Diaz and Stewart. The first four have all been tried in the PL and failed so I am hoping if Stewart can stay fit he will be the best of a bad bunch.
What a mess.
It’s quite something that it looks like our two most potent and first choice strikers are two players Russell Martin would have quite happily sold for peanuts.
The lesson for me is don’t write players off until you’ve had a long look and given them a decent run in the team. Danso another one we messed around. Hope SAA is not another.
Seriously worried now that whoever is making football decisions hasn’t a clue.
SAA is a very promising player who hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip. Unless someone knows something this does not add up to a sensible move.
We may be down and out but at the very least we should be in the market for a striker with Brereton out on loan, Archer potentially off and Ross Stewart well who knows?
Lack of goals is a glaringly obvious problem that needs fixing before the summer.
No the fans were fighting because of the sudden relegation and don’t forget we were very potless back then. This is by far the most inept season in the club’s history in terms of results on the pitch and inept management.
If I had a choice who to pick vs Newcastle, Brereton or Armstrong I would go for the former. Armstrong has been given plenty of chances but not Brereton. Just look how suddenly Sulemana has come into his own.
sometimes players just have to be given a hand around the shoulders and a bit of a boost by a manager.
