  1. Yep both parties in the wrong on this one IMO.
  2. Exactly. It was being reported yesterday that the club view was that players who wanted to leave, should go. It's pretty clear that spurs and saints were in talks.
  3. Always going to happen with Morgan -he's our best player, been with us for 6 years and less talented players have got their moves; Chambers not so sure.
  4. My take too. He's been back in the UK only since Monday -sure talks were still ongoing. Would be very surprised if anything so final or categorical had been put to him.
  5. Wonder if he was even consulted before Ralphy played the big man ffs
  6. What about Lambert's sale - a day or two before Krueger had said the following: Spin it any way you want Dibden, it wasn't particularly clever or confidence-inspiring.
  7. More positive but confused. Do find it odd that in the case of Morgan, we can categorically say no; whereas we couldn't say no to the others. Reading some tedious, fatalistic posts on here, you got the impression that as soon as a big club came calling, the writing was on the wall and there was nothing we could do about things. Unless Morgan's an absolute professional -and if there's anyone I wouldn't begrudge a move, it's him- something will have to give. Anyway, look forward to some incomings as some light relief.

  9. Can see this message as much addressed to potential incoming players as anxious fans. Time will tell.
  10. If Lambert's sale wasn't being creative with the truth, I don't know what is.
  11. Wonder what the OP makes of some of the comments posted on the City, discussing the same subject. http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=258733&start=570 Still I respect your sentiment - nothing against you personally.
  12. Fonte, Cork and Clyne - they're of more use than Jrod at the moment.
  13. Great news if true. Interviewer should have asked if this is also the case for other players.
  14. Either way, depending on how much money the owner takes out from player sales, it would put a floor under things, so they'd be quids in regardless how much the club is sold for.
  15. A cross between the Enterprise Rent-a-car bloke and Al Bundy.
  16. What's happened to your avatar pal?
  17. Why? You'll get more money by selling your most valuable assets individually and the club separately than bundling everything together. There's more of a market for players than clubs not to mention getting a beancounter to value the club with players is a horribly inaccurate science.
  18. Quoting Glasgow regards a baseless rumour that was motivated by the whole FA cup meltdown. Par for the course.
  19. Speculating on a club's book value and liabilities is a red herring, especially if you rely on the data some have drawn attention to. Items are arbitrarily classified and valuation is a fool errand's - we've seen this summer just how much players are worth, casting doubt on the accuracy of crude accounting measures that significantly understate these values.
  20. Who knows? Didn't Ralphy claim he wanted to monetise the secret sauce behind the Academy, teach others how to run their set-ups like ours, no doubt with glossy pictures of Staplewood. Remember Blackmore putting the Ralphy's idea to Rodgers - to which he got a curt reply that the Academy is meant to develop our own players, not others.
  21. Either way, it's much lower than I thought, especially with the increase in TV money. Sits uncomfortably with the OP's claims. The rights and wrongs of Staplewood -Four Seasons style- can be debated forever but ultimately it's a one-off project that in the long-run is expected to generate a return. Unlike a spiralling wage bill, it doesn't force clubs into huge selling frenzies as we're seeing. Still think the Molina article is closest to the truth, something that was actually reported on by Henry Winter back in Jan.
  22. £52m - source?
  23. Talking of West Ham, Winston Reid reportedly holding out for £80K p/w.
  24. Would be more depressing than the Chambers move. Reed was adamant that we don't even loan youngsters out -training others would take things to a whole new level.
