Whatever way you cut it it’s going to be an utter spanking with little resistance from a team of players who put down tools months ago. What pockets of quality exist will be nullified by a manager who has no clue how to beat a lower league team, let alone a team of Liverpools standing. I’ll not be at the game and it’s debatable whether I can bring myself to watch another humiliation. If Liverpool score less than 4 and we manage to have more than one shot on goal, I’ll be surprised.
-
To be honest I’m past caring - just want him and a few other players who dawdle along pretending to have passion to bugger off asap.
-
You look at how other teams pass the ball into space, move into space, triangulate with ease etc etc and then you see Saints play and it’s like watching a different (boring) game. THAT alone tells me the coaching and management quality of the squad is at an all time low - as bad as the Lowe days when we were falling down the leagues. Don’t get that right and we’ll pass through the Championship quicker than a vindaloo eaten on an over-zealous stag night.
-
Yep - there’s only one more game left for Selles to put the cherry on his abysmal cake of a season by gifting Liverpool a 9-0 win. Get yer bets on now!
-
JWP doing well getting his pass completion stats up by passing backwards twice in quick succession ending in gifting possession. And when we’re trailing two goals. Hope he goes elsewhere - he’s part of the problem.
-
Oh FFS - 7 minutes of extra time torture?!?!
-
Good to see Selles is keeping to his playbook by protecting a 3-1 loss. Useless idiot.
-
Bednarek keeping on doing his shit thing. What a pile of utter trash we’ve built up in this squad.
-
Kamari Doyle now coming on for a shop window experience. Lovely.
-
No way is that a yellow for Bree - Mitomo left his trailing leg in. Oh hang on - breaking news coming in…Selles is now preparing his 60th minute subs late leaving Brighton the chance to score a third. Wanker.
-
Well fuck me - we break fast and score. Ah, but VAR step in - the 12th man - to screw us over. Typical Saints.
-
Oh shit, that means there’ll be a delay to the subs. 😩
-
And now we see Selles superb tactical masterclass lesson of leaving subs until the 60th minute. Do it by the book Ruben to give them the best opportunity of scoring again you utter bellend.
-
Small mercies.
-
So Selles could have started the game with Toni at RB but decided to start Bree. Put in KWP - a player clearly not invested - and left Perraud a natural LB, out. He could have at least tried to score a goal, but no he plays the useless Ely-fucking-no-usey and the blunt instrument called Aribo. Selles goes down (sic) as my worst Saints manager - ever. I literally hate the football, the team selections and his excuses with a passion.
-
McCarthy … garbage. JWP and KWP / so obviously off to pastures new it’s pitiful.
-
Aribo - what waste of a pair of boots. Shit player.
-
And there’s another goal hit fast on the break - like we used to do. And in direct contrast to the turgid shit this team has been serving up for 5 years now. Hate the Saints playbook whatever that is.
-
Brighton are everything we’re not. And the Manager knows his best squad and how to coach them. We’re so bad in every area it’s untrue.
-
We won’t - there are relegation clauses in contracts that will cut those wages significantly I don’t doubt. With a long contract at Saints, if he doesn’t want to go, how do you think we will sell him…can we force him out?
-
I don’t want him to stay, but think he wants to stay. Don’t think he’ll want to a be a bit part player warming the bench in a lower half club.
-
When you start looking through the first team squad it’s shocking how many “bit part” players we have on the books. Irrespective of what money they might fetch, these are the players I think we need to move on as they’ve shown no ability or heart to play at a level commensurate to what’s needed to get out of the Championship… JWP - his day is done…found out and not Captain material. But something tells me he’ll stay. Salisu, ABK, DCC, Stephens (suspect his hearts elsewhere now), AMN (out of contract) Djenepo, Ely (out of contract), Theo (club mascot?), Orsic, Adam Armstrong, Onauchu, Diallo Players I’m not sure about because they may be good enough with better management and coaching are Edozie, Mara, Che, Bree, Lyanco, Bednarek, Perraud, Stu Armstrong I think Tella and Smallbone would be good re-introductions for a new manager to utilise, although assessing how they’ve performed better in different clubs will be important. Last thing we need is for their talent to be crushed in a different system at Saints.
-
We will lose. The score matters not a jot. Our lot will be sauntering around with no care about the club they’re about to leave or the manager about to be shown the door. I don’t know whether I can stand to watch it, although there’s some macabre part of me that lives in hope that somehow, something clicks and we win a game of football.

I have to say I completely agree with those saying we’ve got a massive mountain to climb in a relatively short period of time to get everything right so we can even compete effectively in the Championship. In fact on the face of it it’s hard not to imagine us struggling and finding ourselves in the lower half of the table by Christmas. Our performances against lower league opposition have in general not seen an improvement in fortunes - quite the opposite I would argue, with heads dropping when things are not going our way. The managerial appointment is crucial and most important to get right first, however transformation of the squad is an imperative too. Even if we manage to appoint a decent manager, I’m not sure the majority of players are good enough to utilise the coaching provided. These guys clearly don’t react well to new ideas…they like a ‘friendly’ mate of a manager. I think Carrick would be a good choice based on his favoured style of play, but I’m not sure we’d have the nouse or money to pull him away from Boro. Other than that, it’s going to take an experienced head to sort out the utter mess the squad is in right now. Rasmus doesn’t seem like the right guy to be making those kind of crucial decisions.

Appointing this guy will be a sure fire way to project us towards League One IMO. No thanks.
