  1. You could say that for all the youngsters we've been bringing in from elsewhere surely? If he can follow the gaffers instructions and put in a good performance, who knows?
  2. No. Look further back in this thread?
  3. Adam Armstrong (of course! lol).
  4. Sounds like the youngster Payne is having a great game. Call up to senior team on the cards - why not?
  5. Armstrong misses a sitter. Again.
  6. Really could do with another goal to make it safe before half-time.
  7. Stunning Wolves goal to make it 2-0.
  8. Sounds like we're having the best of the action thankfully and the defence is coping. Famous last words! lol
  9. Its working for me, but you need to have an account I believe.
  10. Apparently its not on Saints Player, which is not a surprise if there are no streams. The only commentary other than Sky Sports News is on the SFC website, although at the moment all I get is an error (probably because it's not started yet).
  11. Should win this, but Cambridge are not a bad team - well drilled. Could be a banana skin, but hopefully 0-2 or 0-3. Risky putting a nipper in at RB but...
  12. At 23 it's a bit #saintsy, but not full on. Think Chelsea want a loan deal for some reason according to reports and I don't think that's our bag unless its a loan to buy. Can't really remember if he's actually any better than what we have.
  13. Think you've answered your own question - there is none. Hopefully we'll hear something sooner rather than later, but I doubt it will be before today's match. In some respects I think it's encouraging - #Saintsy - to not hear anything then boom, there we go...a top class striker in.
  14. Agree, early signs are positive however once they've played a few games and been analysed by opponents the bubble may well burst. They do look a level above Bournemouth though thanks to the spend which was clearly inevitable, but are they better than at least two other teams? Time will tell.
  15. Can see a real potential for a spectacular crash and burn scenario for Forest come end of season - if they're in danger of relegation at Christmas or January '23 will the Manager go? If so, that could seal their fate as a new gaffer coming in to mend a disparate squad of almost strangers will be a really tough ask.
  16. Agree with the POV that it's too early to really judge what may happen, however there are some indicators. Bournemouth look to have a lack of quality in their ranks - definitely not as effective as their previous time in the EPL. From there it's more difficult - I would say Everton and perhaps Villa could struggle to regain their previous levels and Forest could suffer from too many player changes, although I expect their manager to gel the squad later in the season. West Ham appear to be in a bit of a spin at the moment, but they've got too much quality to remain in the R zone for too long. Our chances to remain outside the bottom six will depend hugely on business conducted in the last two weeks of this window - essential we get at least another striker/forward and decent cover at full-back. Leeds, Palace and Brighton are looking good value for money and will not be push-overs, but we have the team to get results. Resilience and tactical changes will be key to our chances this season.
  17. Banana skin fixture if Ralph plays a too disparate team IMO. Can see Mara, Simeu, Diallo in there but also the likes of Lyanco, Valery, Romeu and Theo in to provide experience. Unless there are advanced talks for McCarthy I’d expect him to play, so that will be interesting.
  18. The big difference I saw in the Leicester game particularly was his movement to get into a goal scoring position - his two goals were largely dependent on that and I can’t remember better examples where he’s been so effective in that way since he joined us. It is definitely the difference for him at this level and as important as being able to dribble Broja-like in presenting goal scoring opportunities.
  19. Still think Ramos is the type of striker that would suit us, but we do need another striker. The problem for Ralph is, who would he drop now Che is starting to look like a proper PL striker? As far as I can tell Ramos could play a little further back in support of Che so providing options, hence why I think he’s a good choice. If that’s the case then I don’t think we need another AM and the next priority would be full-back cover…perhaps a loan to buy or straight buy.
  20. How strange. Last season our mentality was suspect losing after going ahead. This season, it’s the opposite, with us being in the ascendency after going behind and getting points. My take on this is the additional coaching brain of Selles helping Ralph to make the right decisions and a much better CB pairing in ABK and Salisu. Fair play to Djenepo too - he really is doing a good job at LB so far.
  21. ABK is looking like a fantastic CB - so strong!
  22. Oh yes - what a superb finish from Che. Please don’t sell this guy!!!
  23. Saints with 29% possession…I wonder where this will end up? In other news, I can’t get any stream to work on Saintsplayer…anyone else having a problem?
  24. Surely it’s only #fullsaintsy if we’ve actually been linked…have we?
  25. Ramos would be a bit of a coup and a definite sign of intent (at long last) from SR/SFC. Think one of Che or Armstrong would go as a result.
