We do but bear in mind it's where they are when we play them I am working on. I also think we should beat those teams if we play to our full potential. I would be very disappointed if we don't beat Wycombe next week, for example...
-
Where we have a pretty good record and always enjoy open, high-scoring games? I predict a draw but I'd settle for a win...

Pardew expects Southampton board to keep their word

TOP, not top six. TOP. We are the Real Madrid of League One. Your club is the TENTH HIGHEST SPENDER in ENGLAND. That is not top six after 18 months, it is top by ten. End of. -
On my. We play Colchester, laying the spectre of that evil Boothrody before... yep you got it! Pardew goes to Wembley to face.... Charlton.... In what must be THE game of the season.
-
Update: With one game in hand here is the top six: Leeds pld 46 gd 51 pts 106 Norwich 46 53 101 Colchester 46 30 97 Huddersfield 46 30 88 Charlton 46 25 85 Swindon 46 18 84 SAINTS 45 45 81.... Feck me it's tense...
-
Nope, only Gillingham, who have the worst defence in the league, the others are comfortably mid-table...
-
I don't assume, but all those games are extremely winnable and we should be ashamed if we don't win them at the end of the season with our resources.

I think Davis started it with one of those hopeless 'hoof balls'.... -

Come on, Barnard should have put us 2-0 up game over... He'll come good but he missed a sitter and we hit the woodwork twice. The team gets frustrated when they keep missing chances. Result, they go back to front too often. Having Hammond back will help that. He has been a big miss linking the defence with attack. -

Lol, ok but the point was well made right -
I think it played Saturday! Edit: With Connolly fit he gets in for Papa or Antonion who fight for one place.
-
That's it. If we just win we're there. One objective: WIN THE NEXT GAME
-
Put it this way if we need 15 from our last five games they are: Yeovil away Oldham home Carlisle home Gills away Southend home Which of those do we not win by two clear goals?
-
Oh I don't know. You should see who we still have to play. We have most of the top sides at home. Our away games are not that tough, bar Norwich.
-
I did not bother to finish - I thought 6 off with eight to go was a fair crack.
-
I have been doing the old BBC Predictor. I have been as accurate to form as I absolutely can be - ie. taking current league position and recent (last eight game form into account). I can't list all the results here but this is what happens. If we win each of our games (but draw away at Norwich) on the 13th March, having beaten Leeds, we are twelve points off the plays offs... So it's game up. Or is it... because just ten days later, because of the way the fixtures work, if we win our games (again assuming all other teams play to form) we are just six points off the play-offs. With eight games to go. And our run in is pretty straightforward you know.... have a look. Now, I know this is all hocum BUT I am in blinding form on my predictions at the moment. I am 'in form' on the horses and my football bets - I backed Saints to win the JPT at 13/2 and have now cleared a tidy sum on the day by backing Carlisle at 13/8... Punters will know this feeling well. It's an orchid feeling (rare and beautiful...) And I have been as genuine to form as I think it is possible to be - not fluke results, Norwich winning most of their games, Leeds and Charlton likewise, teams above beating teams below them in the league, unless away where score draws might out if the teams are closely matched. My point is this. The table looks bad for the next month until 13th March, but just ten days later we're in the hunt. So just don't give up the faith until then... Seriously, try it. (NB. we do have to win all games bar Norwich, but even a draw with Leeds and we are still only 8 off with 8 to go).

I'm not sure about that... We thumped Bristol Rovers away, beat Ipswich, beat Charlton and Norwich... these are very good results on balance. -

The reality is our first goal against MK Dons went like this... Davis to Lallana to Papa to Lambert, goal. That is why we appear to play 'hoof ball' in this league. Because much as I hate it like you with a fecking passion, guess what? In this league it often works. -

Feck me, I found a post of yours I agree 100% with. Are you feeling ok? Tbh, if we're not top by October and well clear by Xmas he needs to have a serious think about his future, or we do... -
To be fair, we're buying promotion with our own money and not the money that's actually owed to our web company or the man who paints our changing room walls.... Agreed on the game. Your best player is on loan from the bloke who got you into this mess - so at least he has a conscience... And Quincy ME made all the difference. As above, I might be in a small minority but genuinly hope you survive to live in the shadow where you belong. :
-
Congratulations. You have a couple of quick strikers and O'hara on loan and you had an inspired keeper. I wonder how many of them will be with you in the CCC next season? Assuming you are still in business which I would give at 60/40. Personally I hope you survive and will live in our shadow again where you belong. But for now enjoy your moment in the sun. It wouldn't be the first FA Cup you've stolen after all - have you paid the coach company who drove you to the last one yet?
-
For this reason, it is imperative we make those play-offs and then enjoy a date wih destiny twice next season!!!
-
Storrie "cannot abandon his £2m salary while there are three million other shirkers unemployed" might have been more accurate...

I think what you have identified very astutely is that we are a League One side with League One players on the whole... Speed of thought is what distinguishes between those who will stay at this sort of level (Thomas, Harding even?) and those who won't. Take Perry. The guy can think it, now he just doesn't have the legs to keep up with a Utaka or Quincy Jones/ME! He reads the game beautifully though and many of our others players do not - yet. Some never will. I think it's fair to say both their first two goals had an element of luck. Spiderman played it straight to their player for the first. The second the ball only just reached the scorer via an oustretched leg (although I agree Harding was ball-watching, see above!!) Our guys are good, just not Premiership class. If one of the early chances goes in - different game, mind!
