Yes, a Southampton FC Premiership Footballer thanks!

I hate to admit but I actually agree with you. Where would be the fun in them going bust?? There wouldn't be. The fun will be watching them fall as we rise and then seeing them live in our shadow for another 60 years.... good times.

Sadly, all the ones I know look nothing like Alicia Rhodes or Rose Wood my friend...

I didn't think once a winding up order had been issued that administration was an option? Someone with relevant skills needs to clarify this.

Thank you Captain Sensible. When I run for government (and I will) the kind of lunacy we saw yesterday with traffic management will be outlawed.
-
At Fratton Park? Er not unexpected frankly. At Brentford or Millwall, I would have sued under the human rights act.
-
1. Set the lights away from the stadium in all directions to green. 2. Directed traffic away from the ground north and west. 3. Kept in away fans until the entire area had dissapated - max 1 hour needed. 4. Allow away fans then back to the station or away in buses. Sadly, anyone wanting to go East would have had to go out via the M271 (or waited for the Northam Road to open) but that's a modicum of inconvenience compared to being directed towards each other in the total chaos that left thousands of people sat in cars not far from away fans...

Ricky Lambert corners and free kicks

+1 with bells on! Evidence of Burley's ludicrous player buying - one of 600 midfielders he purchased... -
Ricky Lambert corners and free kicks

We all think set-piece delivery is easy yet here I am watching Bolton and Spurs continually fail to beat the first man at corners and free kicks, to overhit passes and mistime crosses. Perhaps we should just accept that sport is not a science and those people who can genuinely deliver an accurate ball every single time are few and far between. I can name three: Beckham, Ronaldo and Le Tissier. -
That is down to individuals isn't it? It does my head in when people complain there is no atmopshere but sit on their hands. Yesterday we had some nutters near us starting all the chanting and I made bloody sure I joined in every time. It only takes a few of us to be prepared to give it a go and it catches on...
-
Totally. Took me 90 minutes to get to West Quay from Terminus Terrace. It would take ten minutes to walk it!! What were they thinking when everyone heading out north to the City Centre was directed back to... er Saint Mary's!!!?? It was a bloody joke and so ill-thought through.

If we can generate the same or even similar levels of passion as we created yesterday for our remaining home matches, teams in this league will not know what the feck has hit them. Yesterday you could see how shaky it made a Premiership side to have a wall of noise from the off and to be bood every time they touched the ball. I know they are supposed to be professional footballers and immune to such things. They're not - they can be intimidated as easily as the next man. So let's do it.

I don't believe there is a centre back in the land who could recover from being turned on the halfway line with the striker running on already moving in the right direction, especially when the strikers are pacy and powerful. We could have fielded Usain Bolt and with the quality of O'Hara's ball for the third goal we would still have been screwed. The reality is they got lucky with the first and second goals, Kelvin made the third easy and I'd lost interest in watching the 4th this morning...
-
We won't. We will play them twice next season. We will beat them twice. The only possible solution for them to this, the High Court winds them up this week. HTH.
-
Good summary.
-
If we had lost 4-1 to Chelsea playing like we did today, not a man among us would say anything other than that Premiership class told. If you want to reflect on the game, that's the only way to think about it. I couldn't give a feck about that lot. They are out of jail on a technicality and if we're not a league higher than them in the next three years - assuming they survive - I am a fecking Dutchman. Let them have a moment in the sun. They were and will be again a long time living in our shadow.
-
Maybe your little 'paddy' with the ticket office has clouded your judgement... ?? Those of us who were there today clapped our team off because they made us proud. And were beaten by a better team - paid ten times as much, trading insolvent, packed full of African internationals and with the England keeper playing his best game in years... There's no point arguing with me. Just look around this site if you don't believe me. Or is your mind too closed for that kind of enlightenment?
-
Agreed 100%. I would like to see that team play every week, with possibly Connolly in for Antonio or Papa - leaving them to fight for one place? But today's team had pace, width, power and passion. Sure, they had two unbelievably quick strikers. Noone in our league has guys on 70k a week who cost £15m thank God... Chris Perry is my bloody hero. He may be getting on but his positional sense and intelligence is just first class, absolutely first class.
-
The Guardian minority? Right... Tim the point is you are plain wrong, whether you're black, American, gay, Arabaic, I couldn't give a feck. Your attitude towards today's team stinks.

Er, who set up those first half chances... oh yeah, Rickie Lambert with his brilliant delivery... -
The Guardian... "...says that by the beginning of the next decade we will take 117 million holidays per year, compared to 59 million last year, the first time the entire population averaged one foreign holiday. In comparison, just 22% of Americans own a passport...." Now, can we agree you are bang out of order? And I suspect Iowa farmhands work very hard and are fine people. I also suspect they know feck all about 'soccer'....
-
78% of Americans don't own a passport and most of them have never left their own state... and today you sound the same. Any sane fan knows that today our players played their hearts out, dominating a Premiership team for 70%+ of the game. We were undone by players twice as fast as ours, paid ten times as much from a club that is trading insolvent and shouldn't even be in fecking existence. Get your head out of your arse and applaud a superb effort against a team two leagues higher than us whose best player by a country mile was the England goalkeeper. He made three world class saves to keep us from winning the game - or at least being 2 nil up. You sound like an Iowa farmhand. Stop now before you regret it in years to come when noone takes you seriously.
-
Everyone around me agrees with you. Lallana looked Premiership class today. David James proved why he is the best keeping the land right now, on at least three occasions.
-
I have often read your posts. Never again, You are a fecking idiot. You've been in America too long.
-
Brilliant.
