  1. Stop it!
  2. It is because Adkins is dull: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27866-Pulling-power.
  3. Here endeth the thread.
  4. Stand by for a lot of
  5. Isn't that just saying what we already know? As long as you have already bought one linked ticket, you can buy more Utd tickets unlinked? That is why I offered to buy your mate one for £30 - because I have already bought a linked ticket....paid my dues so to speak. EDIT OK - just understood the (eg STH) caviat. Well, I agree - they are confused.
  6. This is correct. You would only have to purchase a Carlisle ticket if you wanted to buy two Man U tickets. The person at the TO must have initially thought you were trying to buy an extra ticket rather than just getting the one you are entitled to (unlinked).
  7. How many posts were there on the Skacel thread? It was befive my time.
  8. I guess they have milked it for what it is worth. If the combined revenue from both the Utd game and the linked game turns out to exceed the combined revenue they would have got without linking the games, then next time they might reconsider the policy. Trouble is, they will never know for sure. If they suddenly allowed people to buy tickets now (without the linked game) in order to shift the last few tickets, then I would be moving firmly over to Tractors side of the fence.
  9. Utd were also in for Shearer when he snubbed them and opted for Blackburn.
  10. I apologise - I (temporarily) lost my sense of humour. I think I got too precious about being labelled a dumb f@ck
  11. I think he means that is doesn't want to have to buy the linked ticket.....I am not going there - I am already exhausted by the other thread on this thorny issue.
  12. It is not complicated and it makes perfect sense if you choose to take that view. Allow me to explain my view - you can disagree, but to me it also also makes perfect sense. Yes you could - and that is what Tractor is saying. If you take that view then you would feel disadvantaged. I said it numerous times that I understood the point - I understand it despite obviously being a dumb f@ck!. I just happen to take a different view on the whole issue. My view is that I have a ST and therefore have already chosen to to go the Carlisle game. It is inconsequential to me when talking about FA Cup tickets. I don't sit watching a game against Nobody Utd feeling all upset because a non-ST holder has managed to get away with paying nothing by choosing not to go to such a ****e game. So for me it is a simple case of what does it cost for two FA Cup tickets? - it costs me £85 - the same as it costs a non-ST holder. However, I had the advantage of of picking and choosing where I wanted to sit. In fact, my nephew and I can go to both games for about £100, whereas a non-ST holder and his mate would have to pay £115 for the same thing. The fact that he can choose not to go, but I have to go as I have a ST, is something I accepted when I bought my ST at the start of the season.
  13. So it seems Whitey :-). Also, if you take the view (as I do) that what a ST holder has forked out in advance for a Carlisle ticket is completely irrelevant, then you are a dumb f@ck! Nice eh?
  14. IMHO £1.6m is a huge fee for a rookie L1 striker. It doesn't mean we are skint, it just means we are not going to go OTT doesn't it?
  15. No he couldn't, but as I bought it for him when I got my own ticket, I could now buy your mate one for £30 if you like ;-)
  16. I think think that post sums up your cognisance of the issue in a nutshell!
  17. You'll probably be sitting next to my nephew, who forked out £55 and has to watch Saints Vs Swindon also - bless him.
  18. I give up.....life is too short. Enjoy the game
  19. LOL - creative accounting You and I are going to the Carlisle match already (probably for about £18 ) regardless of this FA cup fixture, so it is irrelevant. So, how about: ST Holder ======= ManU £30 ST Holders mate ============ ManU £30 Carlisle £25 = £55 Member ========== ManU £30 Members mate ================ ManU £30 Carlisle £25 = £55 If you are paying for your mate then again, I agree, extremely annoying. When it boils down to it, the ST holder's only advantage is that they had the opportunity to buy early and pick and choose where the extra seat was. It would also have been a nice touch if the linked games for ST holders was (for example) £15 rather than £25. However, you are not worse off than the member. Unfortunately, you are not better off either - which is perhaps the crux of the matter.
  20. No they cannot. There has to be at least one linked ticket purchase. To buy an unlinked ticket now, they must have previously bought a linked ticket. The cost of the two tickets must include one linked game and come to a total of £85....unless they get lucky. Now, if you were to say to me that ST holders should be able to buy their linked seats cheaper than members or the general public then I would agree. I can also see why you would be miffed if your extra tickets are for family members rather than glory hunters who wouldn't set foot in St Mary's otherwise - but it is impossible to police.
  21. But they do - unless they get lucky. If I am a member and I have not bought a United ticket yet, I can now buy one (for me) and one (for my mate) and I also have to buy one for the linked game - totalling £85. If you are telling me that they can just buy two ManUtd tickets without a linked game them I agree - scandalous. But that isn't supposed to happen. If it does then it is a cock-up by the ticket seller.
  22. Look I understand the point you are trying to make - but it doesn't make ST holders WORSE OFF than anyone else. If I wanted to, I could have just bought my seat for the Man Utd game at left it at that. Why did I want an extra ticket? For somebody who isn't a ST holder or a member of course. Why should that part timer get an advantage over regulars or members? They shouldn't - so they pay £55 for the privilege. I don't care about their expense. Now I can buy another one for someone without the extra game - lucky for that person that there were some left, and they have to sit in a **** seat.
