Season ticket holders loyalty and the ticket office.
kpturner replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
I am ST holder. I was miffed to have to buy a linked game ticket - definitely. Anyway, I bought my seat. I bought an extra ticket for a friend and they also had to buy a linked game. Tough luck for them - £55 for being a part-time glory hunter. Now I can buy another ticket for ManU without buying a ticket for a linked game. I don't feel hard done by. The person I get the extra ticket for gets it cheaper because they don't get have to buy a linked game - but they have to take pot luck as to where they sit. -
Is that some sort of windup?? It is a huge sum of money for an L1 team to get as a windfall. Where does this idea come from that we have so much money washing around that £4m wouldn't be a big deal?

Which ones?

I think that if we deem a player essential to our promotion, then it is highly unlikely that we will miss out on that player for the sake of a few grand. It is more likely to be a significant difference that we just could not justify....at least I would hope so. It will be interesting to see what the fee Ipswich are willing to pay for Austin actually is. If it is around £1m then I would be puzzled that we could not compete for his services. If it is around £2m or more, then I would not be surprised that we could not compete. That is a huge figure for a rookie L1 player - unless you are a cash rich PL outfit (which we are not).

So just to be clear: It won't have anything to do with the Manager failing in some way, or the (already expensively assembled) team failing to deliver - it will be down to the Chairman perceived lack of effort in the January transfer window to pay whatever somebody demands for a player, regardless of how OTT those demands are? If we fail to get promotion and, let's say Bournemouth, go up instead - will that be because they did blow all their money on OTT transfers in January, or will it be because their team and management did their job well?

I believe we concur, do we not?

I want us to lose 4-3 and be robbed of a clear penalty in the last minute.....that would be perfect.
-
That is the start I was looking for....thanks.

Where do these figures come from? How do we know what bids have been made and for how much? Who has been in discussing personal terms and rejected us because of £2k a week in wages?

Perhaps you could preface the OP with a summary of the assumptions you are making and the facts, if any, you have at your fingertips.

Yes, you can.......unless you get through to somebody who doesn't understand todays change. -

Same applies to ST holders, so I still fail to see why ST holders are in a worse position that non-ST holders. It's not rocket science, but it has still managed to go over your head -
Have you arm wrestled him then?

You are buying another Carlisle ticket to match your "extra" Man Utd ticket. It seems quite straight forward. If you are a ST holder and you buy one ManU ticket then that is fine. If you buy an extra ManU ticket then this must be for somebody else (who is not a ST holder) to use - and therefore that person must also buy a linked ticket for another match. I cannot see why you think ST holders are in a negative position in comparison to non-ST holders? -

BTW - it is not just Carlisle. You can opt for any of the upcoming home games.......not that it is particularly relevant to the OP. I ended up getting Swindon tickets with my MU tickets. -
What is the possible point in using results from LAST season when discussing a thread about whether or not we will catch Brighton this season!!!! You talk of beating Oldham 6-0 (this season) and in the same breath include other results from last season to illustrate your point! Why don't you also include the 6-0 win against Wolves and the 6-2 win away against Carlisle about 20 years ago to also illustrate your point? Now, if you had said "We also beat Huddersfield 4-1 and Posh 4-1..... but as good as those results were again we would then draw or lose against someone like Tranmere." then it would be relevant.

Nope Nope BTW, we play at St Mary's and our home kit is white with a red sash. HTH
