Yes, I think Liverpool do need to readjust where they are. Liverpool have a midtable squad. We have a slightly better than bottom of the prem squad. The 2 squads that are arguably worse than ours are surely Reading and Villa. Their experienced players have all had their day and their kids are not good enough yet. These are the squads that get relegated. I would be massively disappointed if we lost to them at the moment and I think it would be a bit of a reality check. I personally think we have a better squad and manager than Villa. I would swap absolutely nothing at Villa Park for what we have at SMS. All very unbiased of course!

Such a massive game on Saturday. From Villa's point of view, after an awful run it's a chance to regain some confidence in a team that looks doomed. And for us, a chance to really crack on and distance ourselves at least a little from some of the crap down there. The last time we went away to a truly poor side on an awful run we put 3 past QPR. But this is later in the season and bigger. Much bigger. Excited about it already. Having seen that tonight, with respect to Bradford, that Villa team look clueless. If I was Lambert I'd be tempted to play as old a starting line up as poss against us, the kids look done for this season.

Apparently N'Zogbia, Bent and Agbonlahor all played well yesterday, bit of a worry with Fonte out. Just what we need, Villas old guard to click with the new boys just in time to face us a man down! It's a shame as Fonte has really got his act together quickly after a poor start to the season.

Signings in the January transfer window are not limited to one per club. It's feasible we sign a quality centre half and a quality attack minded player to help us stay up. It's not QPR style madness, it's realistic pragmatic investment in what is essentially, at its core, still a championship squad. All IMHO of course.

That said it's much easier to whip up an atmosphere as the minority away support as all your proper keen loud fans are in one small area. This. There are enough mercenary footballers willing to go to QPR over Saints even despite the fact they are almost certainly going down. We struggle to attract very good players, have done for yonks. If you throw cash around like QPR you don't struggle to attract top players but they might not give a damn about playing for you.

My point is that Lambert has now proved in 3 divisions that he just doesn't miss good chances or penalties, culminating in being one of the highest scoring centre forwards in the bottom half of the premiership. He is invaluable and yesterdays drivel served up from certain midfielders at times would make even the best of forwards look mediocre, likewise at Anfield the other week.

Exactly. Fickle would be.. Oo our best forward has failed to drag us out of the s**t for once at home to Sunderland and I demand a new centre forward to replace him in January despite the fact he has more goals than any of our rivals centre forwards this season. That would be fickle.
