Just rang up avis to check with them and they said it will be fine, but then enquired about the excess on collision damage waiver, theft & damage to windows, tyres, undercarriage and the roof. £20/day. They can f/ck right off. This explains why their price was the best I could find. No wonder these hire car firms ask for it when you pick the car up. It was about £50 for 3 weeks in Tenerife. Back to searching.

Utter rubbish. Driving to the road conditions makes you a safe driver. Every time I was caught for speeding I was driving perfectly safely. On one occasion I was coming back from a night match at Bolton in the early hours of the morning and got flashed doing 40 in a 30 and there was no other cars on the road. You control freak Socialists always have to look at things in such a black and white way, wheras I prefer varying shades of brown. Metaphorically speaking of course.

I've got 3 SP30's on my licence thanks to the big brother nanny state control freak Socialists love of speed cameras (21/08/04 - 05//03/07 - 21/07/08 ), and am looking at hiring a car. I want to use AVIS but they stipulate 6 points maximum on a licence and mine is showing 9 points. However according to the Directgov website points can be removed after 4 years. This means that i've really got 3 active points on my licence. But do car hire firms see it like this or are the points on the licence until they are removed? The top and bottom of this is that to remove the 6 points costs £20 which is a ****ing joke. Has anyone got any experience on this?

The situation with supermarkets driving not just farmers, but other suppliers to the edge, has got a lot worse over the last year. They are now collectively employing an independant buyer so you've got the likes of tesco, asda, morrisons etc all having some of their supplies bought under one name.
