As ever Frank you write a lot but it's b/llocks. What is there to please the eye as you walk around the monotonously repetitive steel fence effect bowl? Do you gaze with wonder at the surroundings - a 1960's council estate themed open space? Does Mr Boring think to himself "i really fancy a weekend away in Milton Keynes"? Do you get hard at the thought of a day out at B & Q? -

Looking at the image above, does anyone else think it looks like a multistorey car park? -

I don't think you're mad. I hate St Marys as a stadium (i hate all modern stadiumds). It's utterly characterless. The Dell was always a pleasure to visit - a thing of beauty. -

The thing is who do these ghastly modern monstrosities actually appeal to? It's the old emperors news clothes mentality. If we were to break from the mould and build something traditional it would become an iconic stadium loved by all (except the weirdos who like modern structures). -

Visted this stadium in Turkey. It puts our mechano flat pack into perspective. And it's over 2000 years old. -

Oh yes. Now that is classy. Now that would be "doing it the southampton way". -

These ghastly modern structures soon date, so much like with my wardrobe I would advocate a classic look. Cotswold stone with a collyweston slate roof would be my suggestion. -

The red box. Please don't tell me it's one of those ghastly rust effect monstrosities? Why can't we go for a mock tudor, colonial, or gothic look. Something more traditional. -
That's right Rebecca, blame the Empire.

Rome wasn't built in a day. -
with a shorter cable. thats what the bt engineer did to get me bt vision. he then linked the hub to the vision box with home plugs, and i use wireless fr every thing else.
-
You can get more out of it by placing your homehub nearer to your phone socket.

I've got a manager who talks about "being on the journey" and he's a right c/ck - so forgive me if i'm a tad cynical about such corny spin.

Why is it a nightmare start? It's the best time to be playing the better sides as we'll be playing with extra adrenaline following promotion and hopefully they won't be in full flow (as they are at the business end of the season).

"Everyone is talking about Southampton Football Club" -
It's not even July yet and we have splashed out an estimated 7 mil. Considering the precedent for these things i.e no chairman spends early in any summer close season (they don't want to pay the wages!), I see no cause for concern. Quite the opposite in fact with the signing of Reodriguez. The intent is clearly there. Patience.

precisely. I see a distinct similarity between the situation now and the situation prior to the reformation in the 16th century. Forget the issue of Henry's divorce from Catherine of Aragon in the break from Rome for one minute, there was also the pressing issue of the king running out of money. The dissolution of the monastries which followed solved that and the chain of events that followed made us the greatest nation on earth.

I predict this will all end in alpine crying.
