The mess is the fact that as a nation we are broke! The Major government layed the foundations for a decade of prosperity, but true to form the Socialists wasted the lot on beurocracy and keeping the idle workshy slobs (Labour voters) on benefits. The banking crisis was a worldwide phenomenon, the problem is that Britain had no reserves to come out of the recession stronger than our rivals. Socialism at it's best.

This promises to be a very good game. I went to the away game at Huddersfield and they murdered us, but on the road they are not as good. I reckon it'll be a game they'll try to win which will suit us and we'll ride out comfortable winners.

13 miserable years of Socialism means that cuts are inevitable.

I recently watched a debate where they had the head of the Army, Navy and Airforce basically saying why their respective branches of the armed forces needed the most investment. The prevailing view was that the Army needed the lion share because of operations in Afghanistan, with the airforce second because of the support they offer in this theatre and the Navy basically dispensible. I disagree. The first priority of any nation should be to defend its own territories from attack. The biggest threat we face is from Argentina and for that reason we need a strong Navy. If Argentina attack we need the ability to not only defend the Falklands, but to hurt them so badly they are destroyed as a Naval force thus rendering them incapable of mounting another war for decades.

Football is all about the next game. We've had a good win and it could be the turning the point when Saints turn from an incosistant team into a team that streamrollers all oposition. We are more than capable of doing this with the players we have got. I hope AP achieves what he wants to achieve and that the players rally behind him and raise their games and take their share of the responsibility. NC is clearly impatient, but that's good. The question now is whether AP and his players thrive on the pressure or are sunk by it. Good managers and players thrive under pressure and rise to the challenge.

I will appreciate Alan and his team a lot more if they become consistent. Great win yesterday, great win at Norwich, but it's the lack lustre performances that are sprinkled in that means AP still has it all to do before I appreciate him as a good manager.

It's strange, but there's teams like Bristol Rovers, MK Dons, Norwich, Charlton and Walsall that we've had the beating of both home and away. It's the games where we have to break teams down where we struggle.
