  1. All sounds pretty reasonable and sensible.
  2. Are you serious?
  3. When have we used that modus operandi before?
  4. Ok, if you say so.
  5. Interesting read, any reason why you didn't link this thread as well? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45007-Predict-Next-Season-s-Premier-League&p=1927092&highlight=season+league+prediction#post1927092 or http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45872-Expectations-for-new-season/page2&highlight=season+league+prediction#.U4WOKMaXsdE
  6. You thought he'd tell you exactly what was going on at the club at that time. I bet you just stood there and nodded gormlessly.
  7. The bloke is an all round weirdo.
  8. Most people expected 8th last season and that's what we got.
  9. From whom did the British "thieve" the Falklands from?
  10. Collymore is just an attention seeker, desperate to appear challenging and controversial, similar to Joey Barton. Both are actually quite thick.
  11. But its perception, something that does matter to fans, that the person respects and values the opportunity to be part of the club. Don't think anyone would suggest Lallana doesn't tick that box, Pochettino never really did.
  12. Not saying it is a problem, hence the "such is life" point at the end. Just a thought that came to mind at all, that's all. If anything, it can be used to our advantage - attract the leading lights of young European managers to showcase their ability in probably the toughest league in the world, I'm probably getting a bit carried away now.
  13. Only thing with Yakin, De Boer, Koeman or any of their ilk, would they be looking at MP and looking to follow his footsteps, looking at us as a good, well run club, a nice stepping-stone into the English game, prove themselves for 18 months then look for one of the bigger sides? Guess we're always walking that tight-rope, such is life.
  14. Better than 81-84? 89/90?
  15. Why did Yakin leave Basel?
  16. Exactly. We played some good stuff, but we finished upper midtable and didn't do anything in the cups, it clearly isn't "our best ever season of football".
  17. I don't know what promises are made, that wasn't the point of my post clearly.
  18. Ambition becomes a problem when those who give empty promises get to the point where they need to fully back-up their promises and are found wanting. If NC went round convincing MP and the players that we were going for the CL, enticing them to the club that way, then there is only one possible outcome when we get to this point and realise it's probably not going to be likely; those players and manager get in a stop and look for options elsewhere. Good short-term scheme for success, not so good long-term.
  19. What do you want in a statement though? It's a bit pointless just asking for more transparency if you're unclear on what it is you want or expect them to say?
  20. Have you got a link to the quotes?
  21. Ok, so I'll ask again, what's wrong with it? Yeah he probably wrote it, checked over by the media department, just standard stuff.
  22. Exactly that. Thanks for popping in for a bit MP, see you around some time.
  23. Definitely one of the positives of today's news, every cloud and all that.
  24. So you're not going to renew on that basis?
