  1. Think he’s been scouted by us since he was 18 or 19. Definitely been a while.
  2. Other strikers previously linked include Fisnik Asllani and Cristian Shpendi, although this was a little while back.
  3. I remember that there was a link to Djeidi Gassama as well. Not much height amongst those players though, Zeneli and Rudoni aside, so not sure how much that tallies with the desire of Spors for pace, strength and size. Unless it’s filled in other positions. Goalkeeper links - Aleksandar Vulic, Yahia Fofana, Daniel Peretz, Christos Mandas and Asmir Begovic. Right backs - Max Johnston, Alex Freeman, Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Alfie Gilchrist. Centre backs - Ashley Phillips and Juma Bah (already signed on loan for OGC Nice). Centre forwards - William Geubbels, Damion Downs, Fotis Ioannidis, Lawrence Shankland and there was talk that Martin was interested in Dor Turgeman when he was manager here. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few and there have been no links to left backs. Unsurprising really.
  4. Lucas Cepeda, Tyler Goodrham, Adriano Bertaccini, Olakunle Olusegun, Besfort Zeneli and Jack Rudoni. William Bøving at a stretch as he can play on the wing. Wingers and midfielders I can think of off the top of my head in recent weeks. No idea how tenuous the links are.
  5. Joshua Quarshie on loan at Greuther Fürth from Hoffenheim also fits the criteria.
  6. Transfermarkt lists Perraud, Walker-Peters and Livramento as 173cm and Larios as 170cm whereas Bree is shown as 178cm. Not sure how accurate that is but 178cm isn’t 5’8” and he would be our tallest fullback. Allegedly.
  7. Would Beto, Moffi, Estupiñan, Akpom, Jackson, Onuachu, Wright or any other mystery striker that we’ve been linked with do any worse than our current strikers at scoring goals if we can somehow convince them to join?
  8. I'd like to see Alderweireld and Bertrand signed permanently. After that I'd like to see competition for Forster, Clyne and Pellè and then I would feel much more comfortable. I'm also interested to see whether Cork and Rodriguez will sign new deals. I know Cork hasn't been offered one while Rodriguez is sitting on an offer. If neither look like being offered or signing a new deal then something will need to be done in terms of bringing in another midfielder and attacking player. Who knows, maybe the linking of Spurs' players to Saints is a bid to try and line up an exchange of Kane and Townsend for Rodriguez. Pie in the sky in all likelihood and very greedy I know but these are heady days.
  9. I get the feeling that Koeman will be playing with one midfielder sitting deep in a defensive role with the other two further forward. All will be playing centrally. The front 3 will include the two wide players and one central striker.
  10. Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi linked again. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/376711/Stoke-and-Southampton-go-head-to-head-over-ex-Liverpool-stopper-Peter-Gulacsi
  11. I won't disagree with you but if that's what she means then she should have said "provided they raise £90M" or "if they raise £90M". Regardless, I wouldn't expect Saints to spend £70M.
  12. That's my understanding of it. A budget of £70M to spend regardless. Up to £90M in incoming transfer fees should players, i.e. Shaw, Lallana and Lovren, be sold. The two are separate. Not saying either or both will happen but that's what she appears to be saying.
  13. Quality link to Mexican goalkeeper Ochoa. http://www.courier.co.uk/Liverpool-Arsenal-Southampton-battle-goalkeeper/story-21255144-detail/story.html
