Still a centre forward, Charles replacement, left sided centre back and a goalkeeper to compete with Peretz short, in my opinion. Shame we missed out on Neil and Galves as I believe that they, along with Stewart, would have helped to round out the squad for very little outlay, comparatively speaking. As it is there is a tenuous link to Kaine Kesler-Hayden of Coventry, who we were linked with last summer. Can only feel that Spors/Eckert want more from the right back position and are unconvinced by Roerslev and Sugawara. A number need to move on, for the benefit of the individual players themselves and the team as a whole. All easier said than done. Fingers crossed.

Talk of a fee in the region of £12-15m in January and £15-20m now. Premier League teams allegedly interested along with clubs like Sporting. Tomas Bobcek was linked to us at the tail end of the January window.

Every breath you take And every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take Saints are watching you Every single day And every word you say Every game you play Every night you stay Saints are watching you Needs a bit of tweaking. -
With regards to goalkeepers there have been links to Aleksander Vulic, Yahia Fofana, Jonathan Sirois, Pierce Charles, Fedor Lapoukhov, Anthony Patterson and Oliver Bellizia over the last year or so. No idea how strong the links are and some have since moved to different clubs.

Who was the manager from 3. Liga or 2. Bundesliga that was linked prior to Eckert being appointed? Was it Tobias Strobl?
-
Shows why we were interested in Anel Ahmedhodzic in the summer. Wonder if Abakar Sylla and Issa Doumbia will be revisited in January. Judging by Spors’ comments on the January window, no.

I think he’d offer more than our current right backs. Chelsea have a glut of them. Although they have that in every position. Josh Acheampong seems more highly regarded by them presently. First team opportunities and contract status will be a factor. The goalkeeper links to Freese and Setford were by another poster. Will try and find the post.

I wonder if it could be Alfie Gilchrist based on the names we’ve been linked with. Goalkeepers that have been mentioned recently in connection to us are Jonathan Sirois, Matt Freese and Tommy Setford.

Greg Halford.
-
Think he’s been scouted by us since he was 18 or 19. Definitely been a while.

Other strikers previously linked include Fisnik Asllani and Cristian Shpendi, although this was a little while back.

I remember that there was a link to Djeidi Gassama as well. Not much height amongst those players though, Zeneli and Rudoni aside, so not sure how much that tallies with the desire of Spors for pace, strength and size. Unless it’s filled in other positions. Goalkeeper links - Aleksandar Vulic, Yahia Fofana, Daniel Peretz, Christos Mandas and Asmir Begovic. Right backs - Max Johnston, Alex Freeman, Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Alfie Gilchrist. Centre backs - Ashley Phillips and Juma Bah (already signed on loan for OGC Nice). Centre forwards - William Geubbels, Damion Downs, Fotis Ioannidis, Lawrence Shankland and there was talk that Martin was interested in Dor Turgeman when he was manager here. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few and there have been no links to left backs. Unsurprising really.

Lucas Cepeda, Tyler Goodrham, Adriano Bertaccini, Olakunle Olusegun, Besfort Zeneli and Jack Rudoni. William Bøving at a stretch as he can play on the wing. Wingers and midfielders I can think of off the top of my head in recent weeks. No idea how tenuous the links are.

Joshua Quarshie on loan at Greuther Fürth from Hoffenheim also fits the criteria.

Transfermarkt lists Perraud, Walker-Peters and Livramento as 173cm and Larios as 170cm whereas Bree is shown as 178cm. Not sure how accurate that is but 178cm isn’t 5’8” and he would be our tallest fullback. Allegedly.
