Are some people so stupid??? No they are not from Portsmouth either. A lion leapt through a open car window and mauled to death an American tourist at a privately-run game park just outside Johannesburg, a park official said. The 22-year-old woman and another American tourist were travelling through the park, northwest of South Africa's biggest city, with their car windows open. The second tourist, a man, suffered serious injuries while trying to save the victim who was sitting in the car passenger seat. The incident is the latest in attacks at the park, which is popular with both locals and foreigners. In March, an Australian tourist was injured by a lioness after driving through the park with his car windows open. Two days later, a 13-year-old from a nearby slum was attacked by a cheetah while riding a bicycle through the grounds. According to its website, Lion Park guarantees "super close-up animal views" but it does order visitors to keep their car windows shut. https://nz.news.yahoo.com/world/a/28304095/lion-kills-american-tourist-in-south-african-park/ Oh yes and don't forget the geniuses who disappear when they go swimming in crocodile infested rivers in Australia. :mcinnes: .

I had this e-mail recently so I thought that I would post it on here to see what you think. "Hi *** We had an interesting message from BTST Member Rob Lund over the weekend. He claims to have proof that Police in Worcester are specifically targeting Motorists who are financially well off. Over to Rob... From Rob Lund: I have solid proof the police target people with money. Here in Worcester there are two sections of a place called Warndon. One section is the original council estate and the other is called, ‘New Warndon Villages’, which is one of the most affluent areas in the city. The original council estate has speed humps, or 'sleeping policemen', but no speed traps of any kind. The New Warndon Villages don’t have speed humps at all. They have speed traps of various types! What does that tell you? In the original council area, there are a lot of people who don't have much money, are on benefits, cars not taxed etc. So, when they get caught, they have no money to pay the fines. In the ‘New Warndon Villages’, they do have money and that’s why they target that area with speed traps, because they know they have the money to pay the fines! - Rob It does seem on the face of it that Rob has a point. Does anything similar to this happen in your area?

Well I am very pleased to say that 2 hours ago Football NZ announced that they will be voting against Blatter. They have been a very keen supporter of him in the past so this announcement is on the scale of the majority on here wishing for the return of Redknapp. Of course in the scheme of things this vote is very small beer but I hope that others who were going to vote for Blatter also have a change of mind. However I won't hold my breath that this will be the case.

From his shed in the Macedon Ranges, Jeff David and a team of enthusiasts have developed a super car so advanced it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h ( 60 m.p.h. ) in a jaw-dropping 2.6 seconds. "I have always been very capable of solving problems and pushing technology boundaries in my careers," he said. "I guess it was inevitable that I would try designing a car." He said the car's maximum speed was around 320km/h.( 200 m.p.h. ) "It's like no other car I have driven. It's impossible to describe." Fifa corruption: Vladimir Putin expresses support for Blatter 28 May 2015 Last updated at 13:02 BST Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he supports a fifth term for Sepp Blatter as Fifa president and has accused the US of trying to block his re-election. Well, well, well - no surprise there then and the phrase "Birds of a feather flock together" springs to mind. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32911702

Any youngsters envious of this chap?

I must say that I am a bit surprised that no-one else has said that they would like to be just like him. When I was young I wanted fast motorcycles, cars and lots of female "companionship". Actually as I think of it I still would However my wife wouldn't let me. ( I am being polite there as I don't want to upset any PC people who might accidentally read this ) I suppose then that it just shows that I am getting really old and am very non PC ( dinosaur? ) -
I know I would be if I was thirty years younger The life of "The Candyman," dubbed Australia's Hugh Hefner, is filled with booze, sports cars and scantily clad women, according to his Instagram account. Travers Beynon, a wealthy ( and married!! ) tobacco tycoon, proudly posts photos from inside "Candy Shop Mansion," his multimillion-dollar waterfront home, where half-naked women audition to be his "angels." He called himself "a cross between 'The Great Gatsby,' Hugh Hefner, 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and Tony Stark, with a taste for Versace, who can easily turn into a Willy Wonka character." There are a couple of pictures in the following link. http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/australian-playboy-candyman-blasted-borderline-cult-article-1.2227591

One buzz word in today's business world is Marketing. However, people often ask for a simple explanation of "Marketing." Well, here it is: * You're a woman and you see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and say, "I'm fantastic in bed." That's Direct Marketing. * You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy. One of your friends goes up to him and, pointing at you, says, "She's fantastic in bed." That's Advertising. * You see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed." That's Telemarketing. * You see a guy at a party; you straighten your dress. You walk up and pour him a drink. You say, "May I?" and reach up to straighten his tie, brushing your breast lightly against his arm, and then say, "By the way, I'm fantastic in bed." That's Public Relations. * You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He walks up to you and says, "I hear you're fantastic in bed." That's Brand Recognition. *You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He fancies you, but you talk him into going home with your friend. That's a Sales Rep. * Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you. That's Tech Support. * You're on your way to a party when you realize that there could be handsome men in all these houses you're passing, so you climb onto the roof of one situated towards the center and shout at the top of your lungs, "I'm fantastic in bed!" That's Facebook. * You are at a party; this attractive older man walks up to you and grabs your ass. That's former President Bill Clinton. * You like it, but twenty years later your attorney decides you were offended and you are awarded a settlement. That's America

In a Florida State University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States . It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age. However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president. The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating “What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?” Yep, these are the same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now voting in elections!

The armoured bus it is believed she sometimes used is up for sale. The 18-tonne, bomb-proof vehicle was built in 1983 and is believed to have been used during the Iron Lady's tour Northern Ireland tour. Current owner, military vehicle dealer Nick Mead, wants £25,000 for the bus and plans to list it on eBay. "It's a unique piece of social and political history," Mr Mead said. "It's still in working order and, although it's not exactly looking its best these days, someone who wanted to would be able to restore it to a good standard pretty easily. "I bought it in 2012 because it was a fascinating vehicle but it's big, ugly and it's in the way now so I'm keen to send it to a good home. Given the American fascination with Maggie Thatcher, it may sell well over there but I'd prefer for it to stay in the UK. The windows are made of 50mm thick, bullet-proof glass The 60cm thick, honeycomb macrolite floor is capable of withstanding a landmine blast It is powered by a 12-litre, supercharged V12 Rolls Royce diesel engine that can propel the coach to a top speed of 130km/h. http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/margaret-thatchers-armoured-bus-up-for-sale-31926 I was going to post this in the Motoring Forum but the other day when I posted a story about the famous cricketer Mr R.Benaud in General Sports it was deleted and a similar thread to mine was to be found in the Lounge. Perhaps it is time to obtain some completely new moderators?

Just asked my wife if we have a black armband around that I could wear. She was a bit concerned that an old friend of mine had passed on. She was not amused when I told her the real reason. Forgot to say the look on her face was priceless when I showed her that video.

A truly excellent man and cricketer just a shame the present Australian cricket team ( to name just one ) refuse to be like him. Richie Benaud has been described as an Australian treasure and a cricket icon after his death, aged 84. The former Australian captain and commentary doyen died overnight in his sleep after battling skin cancer. "Our country has lost a national treasure," Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards said in a statement on Friday. "After Don Bradman, there has been no Australian player more famous or more influential than Richie Benaud." https://nz.sports.yahoo.com/cricket/news/article/-/27039580/cricket-great-richie-benaud-dies-aged-84/

Mental health experts say that it was aggression — not just depression — that would have driven 27-year-old Andreas Lubitz to deliberately crash a Germanwings airliner into a mountainside, the copilot breathing evenly as passengers screamed and the plane's frantic captain pounded helplessly on the cockpit door. Unless investigators recognize the toxic role of aggression and hostility in some patients' depression, they say, such troubled individuals will continue to elude detection — to the public's peril. We need to stop talking as if this was a suicidal guy.... This was a murderous guy who probably had elements of a mood disorder and personality disorders. - Dr. Jeff Victoroff, neuropsychiatrist at USC's Keck School of Medicine Lubitz's history of depression, acknowledged by his employer in the days after the March 24 crash of the Airbus A320 with 150 people aboard, left many mental health professionals in the United States openly skeptical that Lubitz's psychological troubles stopped there. In the parade of garden-variety depressives they see, psychiatrists and psychologists often hear about the physical symptoms of mental distress: sleep problems, stomachaches, even changes in vision. They routinely see sadness, guilt and hostility. http://www.latimes.com/world/europe/la-fg-pilot-depression-20150405-story.html#page=1
