Tsunamis are most devistaiting when they are funneled into a horse shoe shaped bay or an narrowing set of streights. If it is a small island the water will rise, swirl around the island rather than sweep through.

" " So if Pompey were entered into admin, immidatley were pre packed, can they transfer the ground staff but let the playing staff go? shake off all thier debts and the 4 bidders could fight it out to buy/create Pompey 2010 plc at a small sum £2-3 million. rent the stadium from Chandarai and feild a park team and restart 2 leages down. The administraitor would not be liable for any debts due to trading whilst insolvent.

May be they have recalculated and moved the "image rights" monies into the wages column

I dont see how anyone could "run" this club in administration. surely they would have to run this bussiness with out incuring an increasing debt. As it stands it looks like they are incuring an extra £2m per month debt. There looks like they have sold every sellable assett and cant sell the players till the summer. The opportunity to rescue via administration died at the end of the January transfer window. Surely all an administrator could do is sell the club to the non existant buyers or wind it up. all adminstraion will do is buy them 2 weeks?

Meanwhile, the Trust is sensibly treading cautiously in response to the offer, releasing a statement saying: The Pompey Supporters’ Trust working committee met with Suleiman Al Fahim at the end of January to discuss the possibility of Mr Fahim donating his 10% share in Portsmouth Football Club to the Trust. The working committee agreed that the offer had been made in good faith, but due to the circumstances of the Club we required financial and legal advice before we’d be in a position to comment further. No formal offer has yet been made to the trust, but appreciating the need for urgency in the current dire situation, the Trust and it’s advisors will deal with any formal offer immediately after it’s been received. A recomendation based on financial and legal advice will be put to the Pompey Trust’s members, who ultimately approve any decisions of this scale. pompey trust are wisly looking this gift horse over with a vet

Chainrai makes Pompey promise Portsmouth, 10:28, February 22, 2010 Portsmouth chairman Balram Chainrai has promised to find a way to save the club even if he can't find a new owner. Pompey have just a few weeks to find a way of avoiding a winding up order from the HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill. Chainrai, who took charge at Fratton Park at the beginning of the month, has promised the club's fans he will save Pompey from going out of business. Spokesman Phil Hall said: "He absolutely pledges that he will not do business unless people have the funds and, if he can't find investment, he will find a way of saving the club himself, "He will bring his business contacts into play and he says categorically the club will not close and its history will continue into the future." http://www.clubcall.com/portsmouth/chainrai-makes-pompey-promise-1027165.html

one of Stories buyers..... "Portsmouth director of communications Gary Double said: "This is news to the club. We have not been informed of Sulaiman's intention to resign from the board. Last week he was reported to be interested in buying the club again. It is something of a surprise." http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5g3Kse8GhFWNYT4FxXV7K5eFJcsOQ

If you can pay players 40% of thier wages I am sure you can sell land twice. I am going to buy a tank of petrol tonight and give the chap at the pumps a tenner and pay the £30 tax whenever to HRMC

£12 000 000 tax debt / 600 staff = £20 000 each average I hope the law has changed for the lower paid staff.... It used to be persued untill paid

If pompey are liquidated I will feel very sorry for the staff earning less than £40k per year (and chuckle at those earning much more) Because the tax man will come after them for tax on the monies received. The Pompey players will have to find 40% of the monies they received to pay the tax man. low earning staff will have to find 23-30% to cover thier NI and tax.
